First time back squatting in about 4 months. 405lbs. Felt pretty damn good. Hip is feeling good, controlled on the way down, and pretty good velocity on the way up. That being said, notice how there's a bit of hip sway on the way down and a little on the way up. Strength seems to be good to squat the weight and control it, but not as much as I would like. I decided that I'll only be back squatting and deadlifting about once/month for the next few months, and will work on accessory exercises, as well as some targeted MAT (muscle activation technique) isometrics to focus on specific areas that need strengthening.
The little little instabilities tell me that my body is trying to channel force through the muscles but it's shifting the load around the weaker parts to make the movement happen. That's great from an athletic and fitness perspective, but right now I want to focus on health, and improving my ability to manage high weight. Save competitions for next year! .

Bodybuilding circuits! Chest/back/biceps.
I love not being constantly tired and exhausted, and though I'm still saving days for heavy lifting and strength training, the main focus is hypertrophy right now. The reasons being to obviously give the body a break, develop larger crossectional areas (bigger muscles Heheheh) build up lactic threshold and muscular endurance, and obviously look jacked!!! 2 circuits, 6 exercises, 4 sets of each circuit, with 15 reps for each exercise. I made sure to use weights that had me near complete fatigue by the last rep. Taking about 75-90 sec rest between each set. Had a generous pump going!

Dynamic warmup sequence I've been trying with my clients. It's only fair that I go through it myself. Basically covers the major parts: Glutes, core (everything between neck and up to/including hips) and shoulders. Do these for a couple of sets and you're ready to take on any challenge!! .

Found a great deal on some sweet shoes! Not gonna lie, really excited to try out these shoes. Reebok fits me so well because of the wide toe box and flexible material. Let's my foot move a little more freely than most other shoes I've tried. Not as much as the Vibram's though, those are still my favourites. Can't wait to train in these 😍😍 .

Vacation + Hill sprints = fun. I don't get to do this kind of stuff often. It's challenging but also a fun way to test out my athletic abilities after so much training in a controlled setting. For me, a gym is a laboratory. The different machines and apparatuses are way in which I can apply different stimuli to illicit specific responses. How those results transfer over into "real world" movement is a true test of the efficacy and quality of the experiment.
That said, movement mechanics, form, technique, are always top priority. I've found, following the research and results of other training professionals, that when I take a complex movement and break down its constituents, train those constituents properly, and then link them all back together into that complex movement, I get an overall different outcome. More force production, more efficient movement, less power leaks, better coordination, and better recovery. After all, the "real" world is what I ultimately train for πŸ˜‰
