I wanted to use Wendy as a #postmastectomy “body” because she is super fit and show how you can challenge your plank and #advancedpilates work with safe and creative variations. 🎀 blue spring @balanced_body 🎀 start all fours pressing hands into foam pad for comfort. 🎀 step one press back into small shoulder extension. 🎀 step two reach chest forward through gram of arms. 🎀 lift knees if within comfort and safety zone. 🎀 press back into #plank keeping #spine neutral strong and straight. 🎀 pull carriage home keep reaching sitting bones and tail back. #snake variation with Long Box is one of my favorite ways to do this Advanced #pilatesreformer exercise. Here I’m using yellow spring for very light resistance. This gives #absonfire intensity since you have to rely on #abdominales to pull you up. I got original inspo for this from @sixthstreetpilates and @informedtechnique 💝💝both of these amazing women will be presenting workshops in Boston November 10-12 along with some other incredible friends. This post also goes out to @nikkigailpilates who asked me to talk about how I spread #positivevibes 💝💝 being around positive people is my best answer. There can be so much negativity and we have to protect ourselves from these types of people. Positive IG #pilatescommunity is a gift that is there for us every day. Soak up the love and acceptance- then give that same unconditional love to others. I am tagging just a few of the many wonderful people who light up my life with their wisdom and smiles. 🐕 press all four corners of both feet into mat.
🐕 place support side hand on outer hip to maintain this support leg in abduction throughout 🔥 so much harder.
🐕use rib to opposite hip - AOS - on both sides to keep shoulders over hips.
🐕 open collarbones and glide shoulder blades into back pockets for strong and stable shoulder girdle.
