7 years ago I remember myself feeling ashamed and afraid to show affection to another man in public.. Last night, my husband and I were walking hand in hand in the old port of Montréal when we decided to kiss underneath a Christmas decoration like the other straight couples were doing.
So, I put my timer on my phone, placed it on the bench in front, and we got in position for our little kiss.
We then noticed a group of teenagers had stopped to look at us without saying anything...
Thinking that they would judge or question what we were doing because of the silence..
They came up to us, admitted to how cute this moment was, and politely asked if they could take a photograph of us for their school photography class.
We turned to face their cameras, and smiled.
They said “No, we want the kiss” with smiles on their faces and “awh’s” from their friends.
My world has come a long way from being ashamed from being who I am..
Thank you teens, you guys are the future!
I love you @carlosnewtown ♥️
