For the side lunge start in a standing position, then with the leg you are lunging with take a big lateral step to out. Keep your toes pointed forward and stay low. Keep the leg that is stationary straight, this leg doesn't move, driving your weight to the right, flexing the knee and hip into a side lunge. Maintain good posture through the entire spine, keeping your head and chest up. TIP • Pause at the bottom of the motion. * Start from standing, and step your left leg behind you and to the right so your thighs cross, bending both knees as if you were curtsying. ... * Return to standing, and switch sides to complete one rep. * Do three sets of 12 to 15 reps.
