WILD TU LAN CAVE EXPLORER Day 2a
Playing with shadows in Ken cave and swimming in to Tu Lan cave. More photos to come but I have quite a few to sort out!! 😂. This post is a long one today... This photo reminds me of Plato's allegory of the cave. Have you heard of it? I think it is so powerful in today's world and hopefully will make you think and question some things!
Imagine a group of people who have been chained to the wall of a cave all of their lives facing a blank wall. The people watch shadows projected on the wall from objects passing in front of a fire behind them, and give names to these shadows. There are stories of monsters and all sorts to make up or justify what they see.
One day a chained man in the group manages to escape and walk outside the cave. He discovers the shadows are people carrying things not monsters and that there is so much more to life than to be in chains. He returns and tells them, he will try to free them and that the shadows they see are not real! The rest of the chained people refuse and think the freed man has become mad from leaving the cave and prefers to stay chained in the cave with the shadows.
So I have sort of paraphrased the story but I hope you get the idea. Sometimes things we see aren't really what they are, such as stories we read in newspapers and even here on Instagram. It's so important to find your truth not through stories but in real life.
There are people/stars without qualifications who claim their way of living is the best or the only way, from how they to eat or exercise - maybe you should even buy their products! But in reality some are genetically gifted in their body shape and no matter how hard you train you won't attain that particular look. I for example love sports and train a lot and generally eat well but my abdomen is far from a washboard (I like to think those abs are padded well). Everyone is different and so is their reality. I say take with a pinch of salt people selling you things and grow to love your beautiful self and find your own truth. Life is too short. Save your cash and invest in what you love! Eat, drink and train in moderation as long as you are still enjoying it!
