When I saw Holly with this pose I got reminded that I haven't done this pose for quite some time and the memory of my very first one popped up my mind. It's not on my page anymore but I try to find it. I remember that I didn't know exactly what to do in that pose. It was hilarious ๐Ÿคฃ

An often requested pose is #GrassHopperPose aka #DragonFlyPose (and its Baby variation). It took me a while to get it. I only mention hip openers ๐Ÿ™ˆ. I am not necessarily an exhibit A for open hips so this pose eluded me a long time. Until I learned that this is also a deep #twist. All of a sudden this pose was within reach. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸผPlease warm up with your regular practice, add some extra time in hip openers (pigeon, Janu Sirsasana, baby cradle) and twists.

๐ŸŽฌSLIDE 1 Full Pose

1๏ธโƒฃ start seated (takes out the balancing element)! Iโ€™m a lazy yogi ๐Ÿ˜‚. Legs in Figure 4. Stay here for some breaths
2๏ธโƒฃ Spine long & tall. Inhale, twist to the left. Bring your arm pit to your foot. Foot is pressing onto the arm, arm is pressing back โ†”๏ธ
3๏ธโƒฃ Place your hands shoulder width distance at your side. Elbows might splay. SQUEEZE them in (this will lock the foot in place ๐Ÿ”
4๏ธโƒฃ wriggle your left foot closer to your bum. PRESS the pinky edge of the foot into the mat. LEAN a bit forward, STAND up, LIFT your bum. Take a solid stand on the back of your right arm ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ
5๏ธโƒฃ LEAN forward into Chaturanga. Elbows keep squeezing in. Gaze forward. Stay here OR
6๏ธโƒฃ EXTEND the left leg straight. No need to wriggle around. Just straighten it from the knee cap

๐ŸŽฌSLIDE 2 If your body is not ready yet work on creating the memory in your body with the baby variation

1๏ธโƒฃ start in a cross-legged forward fold (in the pic itโ€™s the left behind the right leg)
2๏ธโƒฃ SHIFT your weight onto the right foot
3๏ธโƒฃ BEND both legs, grab the INNER side of your left foot
4๏ธโƒฃ straighten the left leg, simultaneously bend the right leg even more
5๏ธโƒฃ lower the entire body aka SIT DOWN
6๏ธโƒฃ now bring your right arm in front of your shin; push into your hand, the hand pulls back. Inhale into cow, LEAN forward until your left arm is in Chaturanga
โ€ผ๏ธProp up your heels if your calves are not flexible enough yet to allow them to go all the way down. Roll up your mat, use a block/book to stand on

Using a shot from February when it was warm and sunny as last post for my amazing friends Alli, Becca and Jade. Ladies, thank you for making me do it ๐Ÿ˜œ. I have to admit it... I totally copied my friend and #twinbyheart @buddhamom76 here. She inspired me to dig deep to find my editing tools to shapeshift into a crow ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽญ. Side note: the hair is not edited. The breeze was strong but warm ๐Ÿ˜.

Here ya go ๐Ÿ˜œ Perching my crow high up on my handstand canes to achieve optimum benefits from it. No matter how old I am I truly enjoy playing with props and poses. Itโ€™s incredible fascinating how props change the experience of a long-known old friend like crow pose. It's almost like a we'd meet for the very first time ๐Ÿ˜.

Oh, what a day it was yesterday. Spent 5 hours in the car for a 30 min appointment (totally with it) and had only an hour before I had to teach. If you saw my IG story you know how I spent it ๐Ÿ˜. I played around in that gorgeous light-flooded space. I totally got lost in time and space. I wanted to take so many pics .. and I did. Many tries for the ladies ๐Ÿ˜‚.

YEEHAAWW .. how can I miss this one? I had so much fun with the first round and I'm thrilled about the second round. Loooved to play with the wide arms. The weather is still amazing (and so friggin hot) so I decided to spend the afternoon working from home .. on my balcony .. under the sun shade. And .. I want to apologise in advance for a lot of crow poses this week ๐Ÿ˜. I try to break it up a bit with catching up on my tags to stop drop and yoga .. or so ๐Ÿคฃ.

๐Ÿคš๐ŸผThe hosts made us vow "... to practice safely within our capabilities and don't push (or keep pushing) for something beyond us. We love you guys and want to see a creative gallery, but it's never worth an injury!".

As a host myself I always feel heart-broken when someone joins one of my challenges and gets injured while getting a pretty pic for IG.
