Meet the new YESC Director, Chelsey Wheeler! Chelsey has volunteered with YESC for the last year as an Advisory Board Member. If you see Chelsey she’s likely writing post-it notes while finding new ways to improve our programming. Chelsey has jumped right into her new role and has made the office an even brighter place with her laughter. She’s excitedly planning next year to continue the YESC legacy of excellence.

Advisory Board Highlight #6: Meet YESC Board member Patricio Ku! Patricio comes from the great state of Texas, where he developed an interest for environmental work through working with Green Peace at a young age. After bouncing around the country from California to Louisiana, he is happy to be settled in Cascadia. Patricio currently works for Triangle Associates, where he writes environmental education curriculum and works with students all over the Puget Sound.

Favorite outdoor activity: Laying out on some nice grass and enjoying sunshine

Currently Randi works as the Community Engagement Director at YouthCare and is known for her warm personality, get-it-done attitude, and commitment to supporting youth voice.

Advisory Board Highlight #4: Meet YESC Board member Courtney Bobsin! Courtney is known for her kindness, vast plant knowledge, and epic trail running stories! She just graduated from UW with a Master of Science in Environmental and Forest Science. Currently she’s enjoying the post grad school life while making all of her friends jealous with her superior baking skills.

Corps Member Spotlight: Meet Ingraham High School’s sophomore leader standout, Josephine! Josephine led the club’s fundraising efforts while raising $2,200 to purchase a school water bottle filling station in the fall. She helped Ingraham’s Envirothon team win 2nd place in the region by being a forestry expert! Although a hyper-involved student and athlete, Josephine has been an integral component of the green team’s success this year. She even keeps the team well fed…ask her for her amazing date ball recipe!
