when ya program lit like a muggg 😏✨

Usually I dread summer time (I hate summer camp... -_- lmao) but I'm excited for the first time in a looong while. I'm gonna enjoy it! πŸ™‚πŸŒ€

...chasin' all the lights, whether wrong or right... ✨

The history made today was beautiful to see & at the same time....... hard to watch. Intersectionality is a real thing & needs to be addressed. I am a woman... but I am also a Black woman. Historically, and even today, the feminist movement has always revolved around straight White women. Let's be clear: feminism isn't REAL feminism if it excludes any woman at all. So with that said, when it's time to march for the women in the LGBTQ+ community? Be there, too. When it's time to march against state/federal violence made on Black & brown women? Be there, too. When it's time to vote for elected officials, maybe 53% of y'all shouldn't (secretly) vote for the man that said he can grab you by the p***y.... bc that's exactly what happened πŸ˜’ The same passion & turnout we all saw today, should be the normality, not the rarity. Silence & complacency in the face of injustice, especially the injustices you may not endure, is not okay. When minority/marginalized groups tell you they need help, you not only need to LISTEN, you should join in taking action. At the end of the day, we must use our voices & privileges to fight for others, ESPECIALLY when the problem does not affect us. That's the whole point. Then, and only then, will there be real change. God is love. (And for those who didn't know, she's a woman, too πŸ˜‰) #womensmarch

I can't wait to tell my future kids that my first & second time being able to vote was for this man. A man that possessed great integrity, compassion and did his job with an unattainable swag. That the woman by his side was beautiful, graceful and a beacon of light to Black women everywhere. A queen that should be -- πŸ—£THAT BETTER BE -- honored to the end of time. I wish I could say thank you to them in person. I'll never forget the night he won. And nobody can take that away from me. They'll always be my President and First Lady. Everybody else is dismissed. #MyPresidentIsBlack #AintNoMorePresidentsBih #AmericaIsCancelled

Dear Joy... adapt to change. Accept your failures & learn from them. Enjoy your success. Stop doubting yourself. Keep smiling & laughing. Cherish your family & friends. Be open to love. Make more time to travel. Do better in the health department (you almost 30, girl *side eye*). Continue to make it your daily mission to impact your beautiful students' lives. Wherever your happiness is, go there. Here's to 2017... you're gonna do great.
And to you all, I wish you an amazing journey. #HappyNewYear! πŸŽ‰β€οΈ

When the sun got your melanin glistening ✨😎

When the Kindergarteners in your program be like "Ms. Joy, I like your costume! 😱 Are you Minnie Mouse?!" ....Yes, sweet child... yes, I am. LMAO! #HappyHalloween πŸŽƒ

Look at this queen. LOOK AT HER. 😍 There will never be another like her or her husband. I don't want them to goooo. *sighs* πŸ˜«πŸ’”
