Love was in the air one night in July of 2010 when our next #MountaineerMatch came to be. Curtis and Katelyn Feigt met at the club formerly known as "Karma" on High Street that beautiful summer night. They were both athletes for the university, Curtis on the football team and Katelyn on the track team, so they hit it off pretty quickly. They married during a bye weekend in 2012 so it wouldn't interfere with Curtis' football schedule. The happy couple have now made Morgantown their permanent home with their 2 adorable boys.

Allicia and Timothy Mairs #MountaineerMatch story began in August of 2006 when Allicia moved into The District Apartments.
Allicia says, "The first night we were there, the power went out and we had to hang in the hallway with the emergency lights. I met our neighbors who were a group of guys from New Jersey. I didn’t particularly have my eye on Tim because I had a boyfriend at the time, but my relationship soon ended. When Tim went home for Thanksgiving break that year, he called me everyday and we talked for hours." She traveled to New Jersey to spend New Years with Timothy that same year and they have been together ever since. They maintained a long distance relationship for 6 long years until October of 2017 when they finally tied the knot.

Today's #MountaineerMatch features Sarah and Andrew Patrick! Sarah and Andrew met in 2009 at Lyon Tower in the Blue and Gold room when they were both working on completing their graduate degrees. They have been married for 5 years now and have made their way back to Morgantown since 2016. Andrew now works at the Mountaineer Hub and Sarah works within the WVU Hospital system.

With heavy hearts, we are saddened to share the news of the passing of Lt. Jim Downing. We were honored to have him visit last November where he was reunited with the mast of the USS West Virginia at Pear Harbor and received a standing ovation from the crowd at the WVU vs. Iowa State football game. Our condolences go out to his family. 1913-2018.

We're kicking off this Tuesday with Claire (B.S. Psychology '14) and Justin (B.S. Electrical Engineering '14) Speelman, today's #MountaineerMatch!
The two met move-in day during their sophomore year of college in 2011. Claire and her friend had just finished moving in when they went to visit another friend who lived in the same dorm. When they entered the room, Claire was immediately greeted by Justin. Claire and her friend had to leave shortly after for a meeting, so they were not able to talk much that day. However, Justin messaged Claire the next day and asked her to hang out, and the rest was history. Claire says, "On September 2, 2017 we got married in Morgantown surrounded by all the wonderful friends we met during our time at WVU. We are currently in Cincinnati as a finish up my Ph.D. but we cannot wait until the country roads take us home and we can begin to raise our family in Morgantown." Allie and Sean Manning's #MountaineerMatch came about in December 2012 when they worked together at Cafe Evansdale. Sean graduated in August 2013 from the School of Journalism and Allie in May of 2014 from the College of Education. The two were married on July 23, 2016 and still live in Morgantown where Sean is the WVU Football beat writer for the Dominion Post and Allie is a teacher at WVU Medicine Child Development Center.

This next #MountaineerMatch love story is nothing but picture perfect. Dennis and Kennette Shreve met when she was a secretary in the Department of Accounting and Finance and he was a TA and a student in the Accounting graduate program. Kennette used to type his exams. They married after Dennis's first year of law school in 1982.

A Physics 111 lab is what brought our next #MountaineerMatch together. Kelly and Traig Deal met their sophomore year in class and then became coworkers as RAs in Bennett Tower the following semester. They ended up going through the Forensic & Investigative Science program together here at WVU. Kelly says, "Our love for our Alma Mater inspired our wedding and became the underlying theme. Our love story would be nonexistent without WVU, so we hold it near and dear to our hearts and display it proudly." Did you meet your spouse or partner at WVU? We want to hear your story! Who knew the lower student section would be where our next #MountaineerMatch couple's journey began. In the fall of 2009, it was just your average game day when Jelesia met her husband Brett in Mountaineer Field. At the time, the pair did not think that chance meeting would change their lives forever. Fast forward a few months post-football season and they began dating. Jelesia and Brett Harshbarger said I do on WV day in 2014.

This Monday's #MountaineerMatch is Ashley and Kevin Sturm! The pair first met in 2008 when Ashley was an RA in Pierpont Hall, which is where Kevin lived. Ashley says, "The first time we ever really talked was on a dorm trip whitewater rafting at Wisp and we wound up on the same raft. Ironically enough, we got thrown from the raft at some point and Kevin kicked me in the face coming up. Talk about a first impression!" The Mountaineers didn't start dating until almost 5 years after their time at WVU when Kevin was in the Army. However, they married in 2016 and are expecting their own little (future) Mountaineer in April! Congrats to the happy duo!

Starting this wonderful game day off with another one of our #MountaineerMatch couples! Stephen graduated with a B.S. in computer engineering and biometrics and Amanda with B.S. of nursing in 2008. They got married a week later. Introducing our first #MountaineerMatch couple of the month, Mark and Christina Stach! These two love birds were introduced by both of their roommates who were dating each other at a small get together near the Law School in 1987. The pair started dating when both those same roommates asked Mark and Christina to be in their wedding in May 1989. Christina said they were married in Vegas by September of that same year!
