This astonishing photo shows the waters off Bangkok, Thailand lit up by hundreds of green lights. The lights are used by fishermen working at night to catch squid. The green lights attract plankton and fish, turning them into bait. Squid follow their prey to the surface and are caught by the waiting fishermen. Taken by astronauts on the International Space Station, the photo shows how our oceans are as affected by human activity as the land. Our cities might be yellow by night, but our oceans are green #thailand #bangkok #fish #fishing🐟 #nasa🚀 #industry source: NASA, Earth Observatory
