Join us on Saturday, August 26th 6-9pm for our opening reception for feature artist William Buffett during the Jefferson Street Art Crawl!
William Buffett was classically trained at The Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where he was awarded a full tuition scholarship. After this formal education, he traveled from coast to coast, visiting many of the major art museums in the United States. Following that, he launched his professional career, winning a painting fellowship at the Huntington Hartford Foundation in California.
He has enjoyed success as a portrait painter, designer and printer of limited edition serigraphs, as well as exhibiting and selling his original paintings. Fine art reproductions of his works have been published and distributed globally.
A world traveler, he has toured Europe, the Far East and Mexico studying the great art collections.
Today his work is in the collections of corporations, universities, (including Vanderbilt) and private individuals in America, Europe, Australia and Asia, as well as many islands in the Caribbean and Pacific.
Recent local exhibitions include a solo show at the Customs House Museum in Clarksville, "BEVY", a curated show at Julia Martin Gallery, and "Men of Winter," a curated show at Monthaven in Hendersonville.
I seek to impart enduring qualities to my paintings, whatever the subject matter. I strive for harmonious color arrangements and solidly constructed compositions.
