Last Saturday morning an evil coward entered the Tree of Life synagogue and murdered 11 Jews who were there to pray to God, including a 97 year old woman.
Among his reasons for hating Jews, the shooter was upset about the Jewish support of Latin American immigrants.
I am inspired by the Jewish response to unimaginable attacks like this, which is always to fight darkness with light... To answer acts of senseless hate and violence with acts of senseless love and kindness... When their enemies scream “death to Jews”, the Jews scream even louder - “LIFE to all of God’s children”. I am praying for all the families of the victims who began burying their loved ones today. May we honor their memory by increasing our acts of love, kindness and charity. And may we all stand with the entire Jewish community as they have stood for us immigrants for so long.
