Congratulations to @scottosbornephotography who’s fantastic image of this rainbow bee-eater was featured in our Editor’s Choice section inside Issue 28.

Scott says, “These colourful birds (native to Australia) are both fast and focused when it comes to catching their favourite food - bees. My goal was to capture the essence of this.

A huge congratulations to @nickybluephoto who won our issue 27 cover contest! “The Stormiest of Ellie’s”

This was my first trip to Madikwe so I was really excited. I went with Wild Eye Photographic Safaris. This big male elephant was briefly standing on the bank of the river and the clouds were pulling in - we gave him plenty of room to manoeuvre. I took the photo vertically to fit the frame and -1/3 under to protect the highlights. In this instance the background added to the ambience of the image.

This is one of my favourites of her. This beautiful lioness was caught in the rain, which became torrential as the minutes passed by. She didn't go for cover when caught in the rain; she just lay there, looking at us. Our driver was warning us that we had to go, or else we would be stuck in the mud. While getting wet in the process, I had to take various photos of her, very quickly. It was an incredible moment that I will cherish.
