Two inalienable facts of life - you’re going to feel pain and you’re going to be told you “you can’t”. How hard you push back is up to you.

I woke up in the elk woods feeling blessed, energetic and ready to rock.
We are in the very place that I tore my hip out last year, and it’s amazing the feelings it has brought back.
I was told, “you won’t bow hunt next year”. “You won’t be able to hike”. “You won’t be able to climb”. “You won’t be able to run for at least 6 months...” Well all those that doubted, and the doctors that gave me a year before I could return to the mountains didn’t know me very well.
I’ve climbed over 240 miles SINCE my hip surgery and hysterectomy 4 months ago. 240. Most of which were between 5k and 10,500 feet of elevation. And that I am proud of.
It’s not a miracle. It’s not some defiance of the norm. It’s a product of taking care of my body, listening to what it needs, working hard and taking time to recover after putting it through tireless tasks.
Wilderness Athlete has been a HUGE part in my physical recovery, for maintaining lean mass and muscle building during this time. I CHOOSE them over all others simply because it works for me. No fancy claims or labels, no BS, and always quality first. I am proud to be a Wilderness Athlete, and to go above the limitations many will never overcome.
Here’s to the hard work, the long days, the sleepless nights, heavy pack outs and emotional rollercoasters. This is SEPTEMBER. @wilderness_athlete #HUNT #StayWild #WildernessAthlete
