I must confess years ago I thought "vegans" were crazy! That they couldn't possibly be healthy and that they surely were delusional in thinking they could survive just off "salad"
Well, well, well look at me now! I was so young and easily influenced by others, that was until of course a bunch of my social circles began transitioning to vegetarian or vegan diets and one special human wrote a simple post on his Facebook page " you all want to know why I'm vegan, well here... this is why" under this caption was a picture of #cowspiracy. Now I was already a huge earth lover, I recycled and was passionate about ocean pollution, poverty and of course I was an animal lover ( who'd yet to connect the dots) I took in so many little living beings loved and nurtured them ( yet ate meat? ) I cried seeing dogs be slaughtered for food ( yet I ate pork?) I protested against rainforest destruction, I signed petitions against culling our native birds and kangaroos? ( but ate poultry and fed my dogs kangaroo meat? ) I tried to save a baby lamb who'd been abandoned by its mother on horse riding trip i was so determined to save its life ( yet I'd eat lamb? ) I never once connected the dots. Till I watched that one documentary with my family and it turned my world upside down, it open my eyes to everything and I could never shut them again, that was it, my moment, all the dots were connected and I thought for my self, I felt nervous to tell my friends I was no longer consuming animal products ... it took me a long time to feel comfortable standing up for what I truly deeply believed in. This story could go on forever ( as I tend to babble ) but in short! I've never felt better than I do on a plantbased diet, I've had lots of blood work and you'd be amazed to see how my health has improved! My iron levels have always been low around 7, 6 months plantbased and they were 15.6 💁🏽 no meat ... no dairy. Any who this is an awesome #plantbased #keto dip made with cashews, macadamias, coriander, basil, green olives, garlic, paprika, olive oil, salt, a pinch of Tuscan spice blend !!! Oh yeah that another thing I've always LOVED cooking but never as much as I do now 🙇🏽♀️🤤
