This was a good occasion for Chief of Tchomia Health zones in #DRC, Ministry of Health and WHO to reach out to local people, such as motorcycles taxi drivers and street vendors, and talk about handwashing: several times a day to avoid diseases such as #Ebola and #Cholera.

Last week, WHO completed another oral #cholera vaccination (OCV) campaign in #Yemen.
Doula is 100 years old and she lives in Ibb governorate, in the Hazm Al-Udayn districts, one of the cholera high-risk districts. She received her first dose of oral cholera vaccine back in August. “I wanted to protect myself from the disease. I saw the whole community taking the vaccine, and they told me that it was for everyone, so I went with my whole family to get vaccinated”. Doula is one of hundreds of thousands of Yemenis, from age 1 to 100, who received the vaccine in Yemen. Since July, the World Health Organization’s disease surveillance system reported an increase in suspected and confirmed cholera cases across Yemen. To prevent a third major wave of cholera in Yemen, WHO and other partners are implementing oral cholera vaccination campaigns. #HealthForAll
