If you haven't tried the Nikka Coffey Grain, then you're missing out. Very tasty stuff! I recently sat down with global ambassadors Emiko & Naoki to find out more about this tasty liquid - head on over to whiskyledger.com for more. Apparently it also goes great poured over ice cream? Will report back on that one..

Tasting a very special, very exclusive 40 year #Glenfiddich single cask. More details at whiskyledger.com soon!

A throwback to a late afternoon tasting at the Glenfiddich distillery last year. We tasted some fantastic whisky that day, that's for sure!

A few wee photos from the Australian launch of the brand-new Glenmorangie Spios! Fully matured in ex-rye American Oak, this expression takes the gentle citrus and stone fruit Glenmorangie is so well-known for and injects it with some big biscuit and chewy spice notes. Check out whiskyledger.com for more.

In a little over 48 hours from now, Dr Bill Lumsden & Brendan McCarron will officially unveil the 9th release in the annual Private Edition collection. I don't know a out you, but I'm looking forward to trying it! Whilst we patiently wait, here's a shot from last year's launch of the tasty Glenmorangie Bacalta.

A throwback to an epic visit to the magical Bowmore distillery on Islay. After a comprehensive and incredibly informative tour it was time to hit the tasting bar. A casual 'have you got anything interesting in the cupboards' yielded a taste of these two - some goodies from previous Feis Ile festivals (the 27yr Port cask was magical). A new found love of all things Bowmore was discovered that morning.

First post of 2018 and a throwback to a great tasting I attended at the picturesque @aberlour distillery last year, featuring a number of drams straight from the cask, along with this distillery exclusive. Great memories!

A ~25 year old Ardbeg from @gordonandmacphail's Connoisseur's Choice range. Some random trivia for you - this would have been produced back when the distillery had their own 'un-fanned' maltings, which were said to impart an espresso-like peatiness to their whiskies (I can't say I tasted those notes in this bottle). A very interesting little window into an otherwise foreign era of Ardbeg for me.

Whisky and dragons? Sure, why not. A nice, straight forward example of a tasty ex-bourbon matured Longmorn bottled for Whisk-e in Japan.

Something you certainly don't see very often - an independent bottle of Oban. If you should ever come across this at a bar, do yourself a favour and make sure you try it. Beautifully complex with loads of oily fruit, malt and some leathery smoke. A top dram!

Christmas has come early with this amazing sample set courtesy of the team at Gordon & MacPhail. Aside from the fact that all of these drams are incredibly well-aged (particularly the Glen Grant and Strathisla), you're also looking at some gems from a trio of distilleries that ceased production many decades ago (Convalmore, Glenesk and Glenury Royal). Looking forward to sitting down and enjoying these soon! Tasting notes and thoughts to follow.
