Kyle Bolstad  Full-time solo traveler in Airstream and Touareg. On the road since 2009. Writes code. Takes photos. Shares stories.

Introducing Bolstad Photography! After seven plus years on the road with over 25,000 photos taken, a few of my favorite shots are now available for purchase. I tried to pick the ones that I thought would mimic an oil painting and look good on a big canvas print. If that’s not your thing, I also have them available to print on regular ol’ photo paper at all different sizes. Feeling adventurous? Try out a metal print! Can’t get enough of me? Order one of my photos on a coffee mug. So, head on over to bolstadphotography.com and let me know what you think. As a thank you for your early support, use coupon code EARLYBIRD and get 15% off of your order! And be sure to follow Bolstad Photography on your favorite social network. That way you’ll be the first to know when I offer a new photo for sale. Send me a note if you don’t see a particular photo, and I can quickly make it available. Thanks! Can’t wait to visit you and see one of my prints hanging on your wall!

Today is #WorldPhotoDay, an international photography event that celebrates the passion for photography in our communities. It is about inspiring thousands of photographers across the planet to share a single photo with a simple purpose: to share their world with the world.
I took this photo of Niagara Falls on a muggy evening in August 2011. All lit up in a patriotic red, white, and blue, the falls looked absolutely magical that night. I was just learning about f-stops, exposures, focal lengths, histograms, etc., and distinctly remember this photo as my very first photo where everything finally came together.
For me, sharing my photography is a way to let others explore the world through my eyes. I hope people enjoy looking at my photos as much as I enjoy taking them!

Just after the moon set last night, I watched the #perseidmeteorshower over Flathead Lake. While I didn't capture any meteors in this shot, I managed to see some streak across the sky every few minutes. But it definitely wasn't as incredible as the media may have led me to believe.

During the summer, sailboats race in Juniper Bay on Flathead Lake every Tuesday and Friday night. These guys were out practicing this week. If anyone in the area knows how I could hitch a ride on one for an upcoming race, let me know. #flatheadlake #flathead #flatheadvalley #flatheadphotography ⛵️

In the U.S., Highway 93 runs all the way from Arizona to the Canadian border in Montana. Get out your passport, cross the border, and continue on Highway 93 as it turns into the Icefields Parkway near Lake Louise. It's some of the most scenic road in all of Canada! #explorecanada #explorealberta #icefieldsparkway #jaspernationalpark 🇨🇦

Sunrise or sunset? #flatheadlake

Somewhere in that tall grass is a bear. As I was preparing dinner in Waterton, a little black bear decided to join me! Apparently it was in the mood for peanut chicken stir fry from @made_foods. #explorecanada #explorealberta #waterton #watertonlakesnationalpark 🇨🇦

Hmm, I wonder why they call it Emerald Lake? If you can fight off all of the tourists, this is definitely one cool place to add to your list. It's in the Yoho, about an hour west of Banff. #explorecanada #yoho #yohonationalpark 🇨🇦

It's crazy busy and apparently the only available campsite in all of Jasper is in the overflow-type section of Wapiti that is basically a parking lot. I think my neighbors are a few inches away. Luckily, this is the view just behind the Airstream. I got back from taking this pic when I stumbled upon a herd of elk at my front door. #explorecanada #explorejasper #explorealberta #jaspernationalpark #canada 🇨🇦

A herd of elk moved through the campground in Jasper. As I was walking home, this little girl had her tablet ready to snap a photo. She was so excited to see an elk that I didn't have the heart to tell her to not get so close to the wild animals. Besides, her mom was even closer to the elk! Still pretty cool. These particular ones seem used to us annoying humans. #longlens #wapiticampground #alberta #canada 🇨🇦

I had stopped on the side of the road for a snack break, and looked outside to see all kinds of other travelers scrambling with cameras. I opened my door to find this guy walking right on by. Glad I wasn't the grizzly snack. #jaspernationalpark #alberta #canada #teddybear
