Forresters Lane now has a bold new mural entitled Weaving and Waving by @_laura_ann_woodward_ that marks the beginning of our plans to upgrade this street.
Previously, waves from Wellington Harbour would have lapped much closer to the laneway, bringing with them people and supplies for the manufacturing plants in the area. The title Weaving and Waving alludes to the vitality of the picturesque harbour. It also mirrors the way we traverse the city, with its small blocks and multitude of service alleys that one can weave through.

We’re proud to have won the Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) EXCELLENCE Award for Environmental Impact. The programme involves pest trapping, weeding, planting & conservation work.

We want to see Wellingtonians saying no to plastic-lined disposable coffee cups & using a reusable cup instead. We've teamed up with Wellington company @idealcupwellington to create these #AbsolutelyPositivelyReusable cups which you can purchase from our Service Centre for $17. They are 100% BPA free & dishwasher safe too. Reusable cups are a great way to support #PlasticFreeJuly and Pōneke, Para kore (Wellington Zero Waste).

We can confirm Wellington Sky Show - Matariki ki Pōneke 2018 is on at 6:30pm tonight! Head down to the waterfront early for food trucks, New Zealand Chocolate Festival Pop-up, Glow-in-the-dark face painting, Chocolate Giveaways & Ice-skating. Look out for new fireworks effects - seven firing patterns which represent Matariki constellation and shell-patterned effects featuring seven point stars.

Please note, the Matariki Sky Show is postponed till next weekend – Saturday 14 July 6:30pm primarily due to the presence of the southern right whale in Wellington Harbour. We will be talking during the week to interested parties – including the Harbourmaster, iwi and police – about how to deal with the situation if the whale is still in the harbour next weekend. 🐳🎇
