"Patchwork" is a collaborative performance that weaves together different mediums of art including contemporary classical art song, spoken monologues, and visual art inspired by or related to the AIDS epidemic. The performance will feature musical works based on the 1992 NAMES Project AIDS Quilt Songbook, monologues from award-winning plays about the American AIDS epidemic, and visual art by painter Frank Moore. All donations received at the event will go to the Sean Humphrey House, a charity organization in Bellingham that provides care and housing to low income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. “Patchwork” will be performed on Thursday, May 17 at 7:30 pm in PA 016 (choir room). Entrance is by donation only; 100% of donations received will go directly to Sean Humphrey House.

A great shot from a recent visit to Sculpture Woods on Lummi Island. Noted artist Ann Morris and her family generously donated Sculpture Woods to the WWU Foundation earlier this year.
Sculpture Woods houses 16 large-sale sculptures, and will be utilized as an active learning and collaborative space, complementary to the spirit of the property Morris created while also supportive of the mission of the university.

Happy sunny Monday Vikings, it's going to be a beautiful one today!

This #bookfacefriday features Einstein right here in the library! Happy Friday from #WWULibraries.

When it’s so nice out even the desks try to escape for some time in the sun. Loving this blue sky, enjoy the outdoor studying Vikings! #springatwwu #wwyou

How about this shot of Carver from local photographer Miriam Weinstein!
Don't forget to tag your photos from campus, Bellingham, and beyond with #springatwestern. We'll choose some to feature at the end of the quarter.

We've had some lovely bicycling weather as of late! As you're out biking, walking, carpooling or catching the bus, think about logging your good behavior through @whatcomsmarttrips to earn rewards and be entered in contests.
