Hold your scroll. Let’s talk about limiting beliefs for a minute.
.
.
First and foremost, what are they? They’re the perpetual thoughts that tell us we aren’t good enough, aren’t worthy enough, aren’t ENOUGH. Period. Oftentimes, we don’t realize how debilitating they are.
.
.
For many of us, we let our limiting beliefs dictate our day-to-day lives. More so, we let them influence our entire being. They’re the reason we don’t ask for that well-earned raise, leave a job that isn’t fulfilling, or walk away from a relationship that doesn’t serve us. We’d rather remain within arm’s reach of the perimeter of our comfort zone than actually leave it. Because, well, that’s easier. Safer. Reliable.
.
.
However, what if I told you that those limiting beliefs — the thoughts that keep you constrained and restricted — aren’t actually real? Aren’t actually true? They’re imaginary. They’re deceitful. But because of what we read and what we’re told, we can’t help but *think* they ARE true.
.
.
So, here’s what you can do. A) Recognize the limiting belief for what it is. Write it down: “A limiting belief I have about myself is ______.” B) Hone in on your intuition; it is likely telling you that your limiting belief isn’t actually true. C) Understand that there’s an action associated with the limiting belief. For example, you could set up a meeting with your boss to tell her / him you’re deserving of a raise. D) Put that action to work. Set up that meeting. E) Evaluate the success or failure of that action. If it’s a success (i.e. you get the raise!), cross out that limiting belief in your notebook. Onto the next.
.
.
Now, if it’s a failure, that DOESN’T mean your limiting belief is true. Instead, it just means you need to re-shape your course of action. In other words, go back to the drawing board.
.
.
Whatever your limiting beliefs are, know that you’re not alone. We all have them. But we all have the power to push past them — there’s just a bit of courage required. ✨

*Craves a thick slice of homemade banana bread with buttah.* *Realizes there’s no flour in the house.* *Doesn’t want to do multiple dishes.* *Has zero desire to wait 50 minutes.* *Needs a snack, like...now.*

Enter: delicious, naturally-sweetened, no-bake banana bread bites.

You are a giver. A healer. A fighter. An empath. And now you’re officially a graduate with a Masters of Arts in Counseling (with a 4.0, no less). Proud is truly an understatement. 👩🏻‍🎓🥂

Baby J, may you always stay rooted in your passion for helping others. And may you always stay rooted in fighting for your dreams — your future accomplishments are limitless.

As this chapter ends and your next one starts (in Colorado!), I have no doubt that your resilience and perseverance will only grow stronger. I love you. To the moon and back.

So much goodness jam-packed in a bowl. 💸 Leftovers, I love you. The recipe for this peanut tempeh stir fry will be on my blog mañana.

Also, I stand my ground: reg rice > cauli rice, broccoli rice, or whatever else people are ricing these days. Carbohydrates are a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Back to work for a bit, then I’m headed to the homeland for my sister’s graduation (hello, Masters!) and one of my high school bestie’s wedding. YAS.

Happy Thursday! ✨

Sometimes, you just need a fudge-y brownie and a cold glass of milk. On a Tuesday. At 3pm.

Recipe is @hummusapien’s ‘The Best Vegan Brownie,’ and guys, she wasn’t lying. 10/10 recommend (...isn’t that what all the cool kids are saying?).

The older I get, the more I’m beginning to understand that motherhood is hard, messy work. There’s no manual for navigating motherhood, juggling work responsibilities, maintaining a social life, and squeezing in self-care. But mama, if anyone could write that manual, it would be you. You’re my guiding light, my own Mother Teresa. I love you dearly. And while I’m not a mom yet, I hope to always be following in your footsteps. Happy Mother’s Day to you and all of the other mamas in the world. The work you do moves mountains. 🌷#wellnesswithedie #motherhood

Friday reminder: fats are friends.
.
.
If you’re only putting X amount of avocado on your salad, toast, etc. because you read somewhere that you should only eat X amount of avocado in a day, that article wasn’t written specifically for YOU.
.
.
I bring this up because it’s easy to forget that you’re allowed (read: encouraged) to be curious, inquisitive, and opinionated when it comes to food.
.
.
You’re allowed to test the waters and figure out what’s actually right for your body. Craving a full avocado? Eat a full avocado. Not satisfied after eating 1/4 an avocado? Scoop out more. You’re in charge of your own serving sizes and satiety, not the FDA.
.
.
That’s all. 🙃 Happy end to the week.

One of life’s simplest pleasures: eating vanilla ice cream (out of an empty Bonne Maman jelly jar) on a 75-degree afternoon.
.
.
Craving, satisfied.
.
.
Remember, there are no rules that dictate when you can eat ice cream, how much ice cream is “too much,” etc. You’re a grown adult and can consciously choose to ignore the messages / media that do not serve your mental wellbeing. Yes, it is possible. No, it’s not always easy. But, you can stop reading diet-friendly articles, listening to certain podcasts, and following people on social media who make you question (in a negative way), your eating habits.
.
.
So, if you’re on the fence about having some ice cream on a Wednesday afternoon, I say — GO FOR IT! 🍨👋🏻 I’m here cheering you on. You cannot change your rigid, clean eating ways until you begin changing your daily habits. Maybe it’s about time.

Instead of telling you it’s soy-free, gluten-free, yada yada, let’s focus on what makes this delicious and satisfying. Okay?

Sundays are for fries, sunshine, naps, and books. NOT for freaking out about your upcoming week, slaving away at the gym, and drinking fruit-less smoothies (actually, no day is good for any of those things). 😑

Just saying. P.s. If you missed my most recent blog post, it’s about body acceptance and feeling comfortable in your skin. Link in profile.

HI! MONDAY! I hope your week is off to a great start.

In case you missed it, I created this nourishing spring salad for @pamelametamorphosis last week — it’s chock-full of plant-based protein, heart-healthy fats, springtime veggies, fresh herbs, and a tahini-based dressing.🌱🍓The post for this recipe is on the PM blog (linked in Stories). #sponsored
