Wellington City Mission  Helping people in need, when they need it most.

Check out these fantastic art supplies donated to our Mission for Families team by these amazing students from Queen Margaret College! Our social workers were excited to get these out to families who need them for school and the school holidays!

We were excited to receive 35 beautiful knitted beanies this week that were handmade by a team at NZTA Wellington! These will be greatly appreciated – especially on freezing cold days like today! ❄

Warm up today with a hot drink - and at the same time help someone in need to stay warm & healthy too!
When you get one of our Mission Supporter Cups for just $10, all the proceeds will go towards our Winter Appeal. Purchase one online via the link in our bio, or pick one up from our Newtown office or the @citymissionstore!

On Friday Evans Bay Intermediate School generously donated an amazing 212 bags of food & other goods! Thanks EBIS!

Our amazing Drop-in Centre volunteers and staff are continuing to serve approximately 70 people per day who come in for hot meals, to connect with others, and to seek shelter from the cold winter weather. Here’s some of the team looking sharp in new Mission aprons!

It was an absolute pleasure to host many of our regular volunteers at our 'National Volunteer Week Breakfast' this morning! The breakfast was prepared & cooked by Mission staff to say a huge thanks to our volunteers and show them how much we appreciate them.

It's the last week to get involved in our Brown Paper Bag Collection! Don't forget to drop off any donations of non-perishable goods by this Friday 30 June. Check out our website for a full list of places you can take your donations - link in bio.
Of course, there are still lots of other ways you can get involved in our Winter Appeal - like buying one of our Mission Supporter keep cups or donating online!

It's #NationalVolunteerWeek! We want to take this opportunity to thank all the incredible volunteers who give their time to The Mission - from our regular volunteers who serve in the Foodbank & Drop-in Centre every week, to the amazing groups who help during our major appeals & collect on our Street Day! We simply couldn't do it without you - thank you so much for your support!

We're so grateful for the 14 banana boxes of meals we received on Friday, all cooked by an amazing group of students from Queenstown's Wakatipu High School!
The students cooked for 40 hours straight as part of World Vision's 40 Hour Famine, then donated the meals to the City Mission's in Akld, Wgtn & Chch, as well as Queenstown's Happiness House. People also sponsored the students, with all funds going towards World Vision's work in Syria.
Our huge thanks goes to the 19 students involved in this amazing initiative!

Have you seen our new issue of On a Mission Magazine? This issue includes inspiring stories, a profile on an amazing Mission volunteer who was with us for 20 years, and an interactive challenge! Head to our website to download a copy today.

Huge thanks to @hurricanesrugby for having us at their game on Friday! We had so much fun. Thanks also to everyone who donated to our collectors on the night - we're so grateful for your support!
