What keeps me motivated is knowing I never want to feel how I felt at 340 ever again. I don’t want the tiredness, always exhausted, feeling bloated, sore and achy legs/knees/feet, feeling insecure, fearing people wouldn’t take what I said seriously because I was a big person.
I used to be extremely self conscious and always tried to hide myself or make myself feel smaller.
You couldn’t catch me doing half the stuff I do know back a year ago- no way no how!
But I’m extremely grateful this journey gave me the confidence and ability to me myself and not give a hoot what people think.

Mango Mandarin Sesame Shrimp 🍤 .
1½-2 pounds uncooked shrimp shelled and deveined, tail-on is okay)
8 cups chopped romaine or green leaf lettuce
1 avocado, pitted and thinly sliced
1 large mango, diced
½ cup mandarin oranges
1 red bell pepper, diced
⅓ cup shelled edamame
¼ cup cilantro, roughly chopped
sesame seeds, for topping (optional)
½ cup oil (vegetable, canola, or peanut work well)
⅓ cup rice vinegar
¼ cup soy sauce (I use low sodium)
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon sugar
3 teaspoons minced garlic
½ teaspoon ground ginger (more to taste)

I’ve gotten bullied endlessly because of my weight and because of it have had self-esteem issues for practically my entire life. Thankfully when this year rolled around, something clicked and I managed to lose 77 pounds.
I went from 330 to 258 in a matter of months. All it took was restricting calories and having a new, fresh, mindset- this year has been great to me and I can’t wait to see where I’ll be next year. Things can only get better. Never lose hope and always realize you’re worth it and you matter no matter what anyone else says. I hope everyone who’s going through something right now gets through it. One of my #1 asked questions is about loose skin after weight loss. I was so unbelievably lucky that my skin bounced back pretty well after losing weight but I am in no way perfect. When I run my legs and bum and lower stomach bounce a lot and it’s incredible uncomfortable. It still to this day is my number one insecurity but if anything I’ve learned facing your insecurities head on is the only way to overcome them 😓
I didn’t do anything specific to help my skin bounce back, I attribute it to good genetics. I honestly don’t think slow weight loss or working out help much with skin but I could be wrong. At this point in my life I’m not planning on getting any loose skin removal but if I were to drop a down another 20 pounds I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Surgery isn’t something I’m afraid of what so ever I just don’t think the benefit outweighs the risk and pain (AT THIS POINT) if I were to lose more weight my skin would be far looser and I may consider it then.
Let me be clear when I say this even before my breast augmentation I would never take back the loose skin for the excess fat. I am healthier, happier and 100% more confident now than I ever way before. Despite the loose skin. I’d do it all again i’d even take on twice the amount of skin rather than live the way I was before. Loose skin was 100% something I feared and I always panicked thinking I’d never be able to afford the surgeries. I’m now in a point in my life where I can and I just wish I could tell myself back then to stop worrying about something I had no control over. My number on piece of advice is focus on your health and the rest will always fall into place. ❤️ .
