This is a general representation of what I might eat on a given weekday when I work out. I am a creature of habit, however, and this isn’t too far off what I will eat several days during the week.

I eat less in the beginning of the day as my wife and I will *usually* plan our meal around something our 2 young boys (ages 3 and 4) will eat. It’s easier to not have to cook 2 totally separate meals. I eat whatever we’re having and pay attention to when I’m *satisfied not stuffed* and that serves me well.

We do feed our children mostly healthy food, but guess what? They eat hot dogs and mac and cheese too. #theyllbefine

What I eat may look different from someone else’s fat loss meals, and that’s perfectly fine. If you can take one idea from this graphic, I’ve done my job.

😍MOTIVATION WEDNESDAY 😍 ....Feelin and lookin pudgy this morning but life happens and I’m still here and still trying.

Slowly making my way back to the best me. I have never preached perfection. I will never say I am perfect and I will never expect anyone else to achieve perfection. My food has been shakey lately. Few great days, few bad days, few great days; repeat over and over again. Every time I’ve ever spoken about my journey to a group of people I have point blank said: “You are going to mess up. You’re going to “fall off” and do things that don’t correlate with your goals. That’s okay. What’s important is that you just keep brushing yourself off and trying again.” I’m here living that truth. You’re not always going to be 100% all the time and that’s okay. Thankfully I am always pretty dang consistent with my workouts so when my eating isn’t the best (which is always the area I fall off with), I generally stay pretty close to a maintenance point. My clothes still fit fine, I just don’t make progress forward. Sometimes that’s okay. Just part of life. I’m slowly inching my way back to a point of progress again and I’m proud of myself.... .

No high waisted pants just lots of loose hanging skin. I’ll never ever take back my weight loss because of this. I would take this body with excess skin over my nearly 100 pounds of weight suffocating me - any day of the week. My appointment is on Wednesday at @athenixbody for a consultation and 3 weeks after that I can have my surgery. I will also be having a breast augmentation since there’s absolutely zero volume left after weight loss is my breast area. It’s just hanging skin and tiny implants will fill it just enough so that the skin doesn’t hang. *please leave your opinions at the door and don’t bother leaving them. I’m not posting this for advice I’m posting this to show you guys the reality when I don’t have tight high waisted pants. I know it’s not pretty but it was still so worth it ♥️ I’m definitely extremely anxious about my surgery and very nervous but I will get through it and I can wait to finally be able to close my weight loss chapter and live my life IN MY NEW BODY #2019hereicome#weightlossroutines @myadventuretofit

So here’s the thing… if you only read the headline and not the caption, you'll only get so much value from this post.⠀

Here's the truth: you can eat any food you want and still lose fat. You can also eat any food you want and gain body fat (I doubt you wanna do that). ⠀

The reason both of the above statements are true is because of a law called energy balance: ⠀
•⠀
(Calories consumed) - (Calories burned) = Weight gain/loss.⠀
•⠀
And while it makes a lot of sense to eat mostly healthy foods like berries, spinach, chicken breast, melon, asparagus and bananas… you can eat some Oreos and a slice of pizza every now and then so long as you are not eating too many calories.⠀

Above are 12 of my favorite foods when dieting for fat loss. They're filling, tasty, and nutrient dense. As long as calories are controlled, I can eat any of them in reasonable quantities.⠀
•⠀
EVERY food in moderation can also be “the best” (unless you are allergic, or something) so don’t be a headline reader - always look for the depth hidden in the caption, and eat according to your preferences and goals.⠀
