Hope you enjoyed the insta stories takeover today from @paulaohara
Here's a quick overview on her keynote for the workshop: "A healthier approach to business and life -
In the first years of a photography business, we work all the hours, knowing that our personal lives are probably taking a hit. I did it myself and there are very little shortcuts through that. The first frantic years are part of the process and necessary for learning your strengths and weaknesses. But putting ‘life on hold’ is not sustainable for a long career and endless hours behind a computer screen can get tiresome, leaving you feeling lonely, overwhelmed and uninspired.
Running your own business, you’ll always have to work hard. But hopefully, we can help you figure out what you should be spending your valuable time working on and when you need to say ‘no’.
‘Being busy’ does not necessarily equal ‘being successful’. In fact leaving yourself some space will actually help you grow your creativity and business. I want to help you fast track that a little bit by putting the practices and resources in place, for a happier, healthier, mindful approach to your wellbeing and work. We will look at outsourcing, apps and software for speeding up your workflow, time management and admin software so you can focus more on the stuff you enjoy most.
I’m going to talk also about the importance of artistic collaboration, building relationships within the wedding industry and networking, so you can be better placed to shoot more of what you want, and feel the benefits of sharing and caring as part of a wider, creative community."
