A fantastic weekend at Lake Pupuke and @autmillennium with @canoeracingnz learning how to paddle a K1, certainly not easy at all and involved a lot of swimming 😅 🏊‍♂️ Thanks to all the paddlers and coaches that gave their time to attend this weekend (Peter, Brad, Stephen, Te Wakaiti, Keanu, Kacey, Paul, Julius, Myk, Kiwi, Sieda, Maori, Mark, Corrina and George) and very special thanks to Canoe Racing New Zealand, @hpsportnz and the @northshorecanoeclub especially @tomashley, Polly and Gav for all your organising, knowledge and patience. #canoeracingnz #wakaamanz #giveitago 🛶

Nga Kaihoe o Aotearoa (Waka Ama NZ) are immensely proud to present the 30th Waka Ama Sprint Nationals in January 2019 at Lake Karāpiro.

The first Aotearoa National Outrigger Canoe Paddling National Champs were hosted by Tatou Hoe in 1990 at Lake Karāpiro - when the shirts were a bit more fluro, the hair just that little bit bigger and stubbies were a wardrobe staple 😎

We are excited to host the 2019 National Sprints and take this opportunity to celebrate; our history, how far we have come, those who have helped shape the event over the years and looking towards the future for the next 30! So if you are looking to join us....Panui 1 is now online and the online entries will open 23rd October 🤙🏽 #WakaSprintNats2019 #Whereitallbegan #1990 #30yearsofSprints
