Good morning instafam..
I came across this post and it really resonated with me. So I thought to share. Thank you @lady_violante for this post! You’re truly an inspiration to many.💖💖💖

You often ask me how do I have thick skin when it comes to living in a city whose beauty standards are firmly ruled by the size a woman wears.
Simple: I am unafraid to be myself. I don’t ask for permission, I challenge anyone to define me simply as a body, see if they dare. Most of the times, they do not.
I am reposting this to answer a question I got asked a large number of times, in DM, in secret, almost with fear of offending me: what was I wearing underneath such skin-tight dress?
Ladies, I was wearing Spanx. I ain’t afraid of it, I don’t demonise it, I use it to my advantage as I use “regular” silk and lace lingerie, which I adore and consider as important to my dressing as what’s on the outside. It is not a matter of size or being fat: it is a matter of wanting to smooth out everything so that there are no lines showing underneath the dress fabric.
Spanx shall not make you slimmer by magic, and it will not perform miracles. It will simply hold everything in place when you need it to, and there is NOTHING to be ashamed of. Models and celebrities use it, I don’t see why I shouldn’t when the outfit requires it.
Yet no Spanx will help you if you’re not owning yourself completely, if you don’t love your own body. So I would say, yes by all means buy Spanx and flaunt what God has given you, but make sure that you smooth out your mind before. Only then you will shine and attract positivity ❤️ It isn’t easy, I know! But you gotta start somewhere 💁🏼♀️
Happy #bodypositivity Sunday, my friends!
