A great close-up of La La Falls in Warburton, which is actually quite small. But it gives you a taste about what Warburton is all about - rainforests and cool, flowing water. 'La La' means 'Welcome Welcome' in the local Indigenous language, which is fitting as humans and dogs are welcome on this short hike, which should only take about 1 hour return. After this, visit the Swing Bridge back in the main town then find #yourhappyspace along the river banks - your dog can take a dip whilst you enjoy the tall tree and mountain views. Don't stop at rooftop bars this summer, try a rooftop cinema too. Our classic @rooftopbar in the middle of the city transforms into a place for nostalgic movie fans on Tue-Thurs and Sat-Sun, with the occasional screening of a new release. Enjoy the film against a backdrop of romantic city lights from @rooftopcinema. It does get cooler at night so BYO blanket just in case! Photo via @saseger #visitmelbourne #melbournetwist

Not one to hike in the heat? Embark on your adventure at sunrise or sunset to spots like Reeds Lookout in @thegrampians, which is only a short walk from the carpark. If it's cool enough to walk a little longer, you can access the Balconies Lookout from the same carpark within an easy 1 hour return walk. Beat the crowds and try your luck for a sunrise next time you visit @thegrampians. Photo by @lensible #grampians #visitvictoria #yourhappyspace

Most people think of the 12 Apostles or the beach when they hear @visitgreatoceanroad, but in the depths of Great Otway National Park lies the serene Lake Elizabeth. Bring a canoe or take a dip and keep an eye out for the local platypi. Dogs are allowed on leash but be weary of snakes in the warm weather. Where's your favourite place to swim in Victoria besides the beach? Photo by @aussie_places #visitvictoria #yourhappyspace #iamgreatoceanroad

Creative hubs and green spaces will surprise you as you wind through the streets of the city. In Meyers Place, you'll find more than just jungle-like street art - there's a rooftop bar, a community space for indie film and art projects, chargrilled Argentinian meats and New York style pizza. That's just to name a few things in this lane. Artwork by @mike.makatron, photo by @les_butcher #visitmelbourne #melbournetwist

When you're looking to take your three fluffballs for a laidback afternoon rather than a hike, @wombathillhouse in @daylesfordmacedonranges is the perfect place. Walk through the gardens for some fresh air and indulge in a prepared picnic hamper. The cafe also has a picturesque outdoor seating area if brunch is more your thing. When these doggos don't have a day off, you'll find them available for a pat at @portal108 in Hepburn Springs. Photo by @dolly.arkie.stevie #daylesfordmacedonlife #visitvictoria #yourhappyspace

Yes, we do look dazzling, don't we? If you haven't noticed, we're the type that likes to dress up for Christmas weeks in advance in order to spread the festive cheer. Wander through the city this December and enjoy all the quirky surprises on our landmarks, in our arcades and laneways. Photo by @nick.chieng #visitmelbourne #melbournetwist

“It’s so magical”. @natalieportman talks all things Melbourne from @ngvmelbourne’s world first exhibition, Escher X nendo | Between Two Worlds. #ngvexn

It's not the 1st of December yet here, but it's close! Is your Christmas tree already up? Or will you be traveling to Melbourne this December? If so, look out for these guys at @melbournesgpo and make sure to watch the projections at @federationsquare and @docklandsmelb. 'Tis the season. Photo by @preethah #visitmelbourne #melbournetwist

From basement jazz bars to flashy arena shows, live music has always been a significant part of Melbourne culture. But we also can't forget those intimate venues in our inner suburbs, so full of character and history. No wonder there was a buzz when St Kilda icon @hotelesplanadestkilda re-opened its renovated doors last week! It first opened in 1878, so you can imagine how many stories the building walls hold. Live like a local and see a gig here next time you're in Melbourne with a pre-gig bite and drink along the seaside. Photo by @sharon_teeee #visitmelbourne #melbournetwist

Can't complain when you arrive at a cidery and the views look like this! @gurneyscidery in @visitgippsland closed for several months earlier this year and re-opened in Spring. Overlooking Corner Inlet and Wilson's Promontory, it's the perfect stop if you're heading to The Prom or even Tarra Bulga National Park. The cidery aim to source their tasting platter goods from within 50km of the location to showcase Gippsland's quality produce. Warning: you might never want to leave once you make the stop.
