A big question about wines it’s quality x money. Or how much money is enough to buy a good wine. Usually a US$ 50,00 (or much more) bottle delivers a lot of quality. But it’s not always easy to find a really good ones for US$ 10,00. So, that is exactly this case! Very pleasant Cab Sauvignon, called CAMPOS ALTOS, 2013, from @aracuri Winery (South Brazil). Medium bodied, red fruits, easy to drink, a little of green pepper, very good acidity, not to aged. Right point to drink. It was served with a typical food of south Brazil (Carreteiro - rice, meat and sausage) Just enjoy without thinking on expending a lot of money! Very good job @aracuri!!!

Contemplation! ROSA EVANESCENTE PINOT NOIR, 2016. This wine was one of the best surprises in a long time. It is a natural Pinot Noir, zero addition of SO2, produced by Atelier Tormentas (highlighted winemaker Marco Danielle), in a project conducted by the winemaker Vanessa Kohlrausch Medin for the specific production of this barrel. The result is fantastic! This wine has pure personality, with delicacy and elegance worthy of the great burgundys. Shows even more the capacity and quality of the region for production of Pinot Noir. Evidently in hands capable of extracting the quality and complexity of this grape. The wine can be drunk now with amazing pleasure, or stored for some time (my preference). Indeed, the work of the two winemakers of Atelier Tormentas is surprising to each new experience. Only 280 bottles produced and undoubtedly deserve to be appreciated one by one. This is something different and “old style”. I’ve tried it a few times and it’s always an interesting experience. BAROLO CHINATO Trecentotrentare, Massimo Rattalino, vino aromatizzato. Well... the base wine is a Barolo DOCG (100% nebbiolo), with extracts from separate infusion in alcohol of calissaja chincona bark, quassa wood, gentian root, cardamom seeds, juniper berries, tonka bean, mace, chamomile. With six month small French oak barrels. This kind of wine is born like medicinal wine (and taste like some medicinal stuff). But... it has recently been discovered as a fantastic partner of noble dark chocolate, or some kind of chocolate cake. Like aperitif or dessert. It’s not a sweet wine, but show as one’s. But it’s really elegant and base barolo come throuth with delicacy and personality. Once in a life we need try it. For me, once again, it was a pleasure moment! Great pairing!!! White PÊRA-MANCA, 2013, Évora-Doc, Alentejo, from Cartuxa Winery. Amazing white, ripe yellow fruits, good acidity, personality. Made with Antão Vaz and Arinto grapes. With part in french oak and part inox barrel, made a very balanced wine. Served with Octopus with tomatoes sauce, avocato and spices, made with for hands. Thank’s @kelybavaresco. Really special!!! K Vintners THE DEAL Sundance Vineyard, Syrah, Columbia Valley, USA, 2014. These producer is really different and special. Charles Smith produces very promising wines in ones of most interesting new wine regions, Walla Walla, Washington State. This wine is elegant, with a lot of personality, structured, black fruits, pepper, spices, with very soft tannins. RP gave 2013 Vintage 95 points. I strongly recommend trying. EMMOLO Napa Valley, Merlot, 2015! What a color?!?!!! Fantastic!!!

It’s always surprising to open a bottle of DON MELCHOR, from Concha y Toro winery. Cabernet Sauvignon (with a little Cab Franc portion), 2007, Puente Alto Region, Chile 🇨🇱. I tasted many times before, including a vertical tasting with 10 vintages. This one (2007) is fantastic! Maybe not so complex on the palate, but a lot of intensity, full body, cherry, tobacco, roast coffee, dark fruits. Long after taste. It’s one of biggest wines from Chile and it shows why! PULIGNY-MONTRACHET, by Joseph Drouhin, 2015, burgundy. Even from the standard line, it’s always a pleasure to drink such wine. Yellow fruits, butter, brioches, good acidity, very well balanced. It’s a classic wine. CHATEAU MUSAR, 2007, Gaston Hochar, from Bekaa Valley, Lebanon 🇱🇧. Red blend, made probably with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut and Carignan. French style, need to open 1 or 2 hours before drinking. Seems like rustic before that, but after one hour... what a great surprise and pleasure at the bottle. Very elegant, some red fruits and black cherries. Some tabaco, toasted cafe. But all very well balanced. I tested 2004 and these 2007. The first one maybe more elegant, the second a little young and maybe more spicy. Again, few differences and same good work from winery. Recommend!!
