Challenging the perception of junk mail being rubbish, we designed these press moulds to create functional objects from waste paper as raw material. The press is sand cast in aluminium with interchangable moulds to create a range of objects.
Bento Box Lids made from Marine Debris Plastic. Each of them are moulded using our low pressure injection moulding machine, and hand finished. The process allows us to treat each piece as a canvas and create a unique marbling effect. Designed by @andrewcsimpson and @the_sarah_k
Vert collaborated with @nupods_ to design a custom shaker for delivering a single serve meal supplement pod.
The neck of the flask features an internal piercing cone to puncture the seal lid of the pod when pressed down. The pod is made from paper pulp sealed with a fine PLA film, making it completely recyclable.
Matthew Miller from @studiomatthewmiller is holding the the #WoolmarkPrize trophy. Trophies are tokens from a prestigious award initiated by the @thewoolmarkcompany, recognizing design excellence using Australian Merino wool. Each trophy is fully produced from 250gr marine debris plastic, individually sanded, formed and hand finished.
The elegant @huskeecup is now accompanied with a universal lid, transforming the range into the perfect BYO coffee cup solution. The form maintains a unified drinking experience between the cup and the lid and unlike traditional lids, it is designed to engage the olfactory system.
Today we are looking back at the Junk Mail Press project we started a few years ago. Experimenting with #paperpulp process allowed us to transform waste paper from magazines and newspapers into daily objects.
The vertical gardens project for central park required us to interpret architectural plans for every level of the building to create the necessary shop drawings for fabrication of support frames and structural brackets.
