|| PERSONAL POST || It's been a while dear Vegies! I wanted to share some personal thoughts with you, especially into the lead up to the opening of @soulpodfoods, our cafe.
Never before have I felt more grateful and aligned in my life. I always wanted a way to bring my loves (food, health and beauty) together. And I did it successfully for many years with the Vegie Head brand. The original focus of the first website was plant based food that everyone could love, and it evolved to include skincare - my professional background. Along with the website came the ebooks, published book #thevegancookbook, live and online workshops, and talks all over Australia and internationally.
What then naturally came out of people's interest in my skincare and beauty was @dusk_by_adele. Now over two years later, DBA is a proud, stand-alone business that thousands of women and men have turned to for simple, effective, cruelty free skincare and cosmetics. I had been making skincare for myself for years, talking and blogging about it on the VH website, and the demand for a commercial range just grew.
Opening a cafe was always inevitable. I had been looking at spaces on and off for years. I looked at warehouses, food carts, exisiting businesses and empty spaces. I got as far as applying for loans and putting in offers. But something just never clicked into place. Something was missing. It just never worked and whatever the venture was just fell flat and evaporated into the ethers.
When this new space popped up, I wanted it. But I said no. Crazily. The next day, the wonderful Daniela, owner of @eastfieldnatural foods and I had a chat. I wanted to do it. But couldn't do it alone. She wanted to do it. But couldn't do it alone.
So we joined forces, and decided to do it together!

@soulpodfoods was born!
And just like that, the last decade of work has merged into one.
A space where I can cook and create, and feed others. A space I can teach out of, run workshops and events. A place where @dusk_by_adele has a permanent office, base and retail space where I can help you in person. A space for my loves to merge. |CONTINUED BELOW|

When you're pulling 16 hour days with your rad biz partner at your new cafe and you're unpacking boxes of stock... and you find a sneaky jar of @99th_monkey brand new Spiced Almond Butter in your nut butter order - You know it's a good night!! Asparagus. Love or loathe?

I LOVE IT!! Eaten raw, or lightly steamed with some lemon and salt... YUM.

Bringing back this old fave tonight! It's simple, healthy and filling <3
Tofu and Pumpkin Lemongrass Curry

1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
250 g Firm Tofu pressed to remove excess water and cubed
1 Red Onion diced
1 Red Chilli deseeded and sliced finely
1 stalk of lemongrass- white part only sliced finely
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp Ground Turmeric
3 cups Butternut Pumpkin cubed
3 Dutch Cream Potatoes cubed
400 ml Coconut Cream (full fat)
2 cups water (more if needed)
1 cup Kale shredded
1 tbsp Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
Salt To Taste
Fresh lime and coriander to serve
