Hey health friends!! I apologize for my absence as of late, I’ve been dealing with some serious post-partum depression after the birth of my third child, Quinoa. Because of this depression, i’m sad and ashamed to report that i’ve relapsed and consumed ARTIFICIAL food with GMOs. This was the first time i’d eaten non-vegan food in 13 years. I was close to admitting myself to the hospital, but now i’m back and better than ever!! Here’s my latest vegan creation, some tasty rice with spices and veggies! 💞💞💞✨

These are a few celebrities I recently found out were vegan! It’s great to support the work of other vegans, and it’s wonderful to see them using their platforms to raise awareness of the benefits of living vegan! A fun meal to make with the family is homemade pizzas! I usually just buy some pre made vegan crusts, or just use some vegan pita bread as a base. Then, let your family have fun customizing their pizza with sauce, veggies, mushrooms, or vegan alternatives for pepperoni and sausage. This is another meal that’s easy to fill with a variety of foods, so that you know everyone is getting the nutrients they need. My kids LOVE pizza, and I love how easy it is to make after a long day. 🌱💞

I love making tofu scrambles because it’s easy to quickly make a large batch of it for the family, and it’s a versatile meal that you can change to fit your taste. I personally just mix some tofu, chopped peppers, kale, spinach and spices together in a pan with some oil. The kids love it, and it’s such a effortless meal!

Let me tell you my story of what veganism means to me. My first daughter was ten years old when she discovered the full affect animal products have on the world, in fact she opened my eyes to it. She said “Mom, why is it considered okay and normal to eat other creatures with feelings and families.” And I responded “well honey we need a source of protein from somewhere.” This is when she showed me videos she found on the atrocities that livestock go through and the effect it has on the environment. At once, we began researching alternative eating ways together, and this image helped me make sure she gets the nutrients her growing body needs! Veganism to me is compassion. It is consideration. Most of all, it is awareness. Awareness of the benefits, but also of the proper ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Often times my friends will recommend recipes to me that sound delicious, but a few ingredients are a big no-no for people living a vegan lifestyle. Here’s a few vegan substitutes that I love:
Eggs:
Ground Flax Seed
Bananas
Applesauce

Cream:
Raw Cashews
Dairy free Creamer

Cheese:
Cashew or any Nut Cheese

Honey:
Maple Syrup
Agave Syrup
