I am struggling. Struggling with society, struggling with the concept of Instagram. To be really, really honest I just posted food pictures the last days because I did not know what else I could post. I thought why even bother writing down something meaningful when only 20% of people are actually reading the caption under a picture? Is this platform shallow? And if yes, is that the way it has to be? I told my boyfriend I am not an inspirational person and I don't deserve your attention. I thought either you fit in the Instagram circus and post what's popular or you sink and you will vanish. It is easy to blame the medium and say: well Instagram forced me to post Smoothies or my body in the perfect pose after exercising. Instagram made me buy followers or join commenting Bots or Pods. We blame Instagram that it made us do all this things. But the truth is: We are Instagram. With our Likes and comments, we determine what's popular and what's not. We are the content of Instagram and we make or break ourselves. 💔
Tomorrow I am going to make a little experiment when I post the exact same text as here under a gorgeous picture and I just want to check how many read the caption and how many: ❤️, nice, wonderful, cool - comments....are you curious as well?
