#WorldWaterDay is this Thursday. Every year 1.8 billion people are exposed to contaminated drinking water. Natural solutions, such as wetlands, are crucial in the fight to keep our freshwater fresh. #KeepItCLEAR #BeatPollution

#CleanSeas Photo Challenge - Congratulations to Christine Ren of the USA, who is the winner in our Underwater category: "Ghost nets are the silent killers of the sea." #CleanSeas Photo Challenge - Emmanuel Sofa of Nigeria is the winner of the category "Humans: The Marine Litter Problem/Solution": "Daily dumps sees the sea in communities without common empties (landfill). This photo was taken on the 31st March, 2017 during a survey analysis by my organization called Stand Out For Environment Restoration (SOFER) Initiative. We were taking sample photographs to prepare for the biggest beach clean up exercise on the longest coastline beach in West Africa called Ibeno beach. The clean up is scheduled for June 3rd, 2017 in celebration of WED2017 and to foster the UNenvironment #cleanseas campaign. We are also providing Biosand Filter to the Ibeno community to help purify their drinking water that has been polluted by oil exploration. We do not have any support yet." #BeatPlasticPollution #BeatPollution

The future we want is green & clean. We’re looking for Young Champions of the Earth with the ideas to make it happen. Will you rise up? Head to the link in our bio ⬆️ to apply. #YoungChamps

#CleanSeas Photo Challenge: Ana Filipa Bessa of Portugal is the winner in the Macro Photography category: "Sea Plastic Salt - I analysed a sample of traditional sea salt purchased in a local shop in Portugal (15 June 2017) and it was clear the presence of small plastic fibers, like this blue fiber (nylon). Unfortunatety it is not surprisingly since microplastics can be found in marine species and all marine resources." #BeatPlasticPollution #BeatPollution
