The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness. -John Muir .
When I was little we lived in the middle of a hill and at the bottom was a creek and on the other side, a mysterious forest. My father would take us adventuring in those trees and tell us monkeys lived there. I remember as I got older, seeing and hearing the yellow bulldozers, month by month getting closer, slowly stealing away my wonderland and I remember some of the forest families that would escape to our side of the creek to be a spectacle in my little girl memory.
It wasn’t until we moved to Idaho that these creatures became commonplace and my awe slowly waned. But as I get older, my appreciation for Mother Natures creatures increases. Especially as they become my subjects of hours of thought and care and labor. 🦌What’s something in Nature you appreciate today? 🌾
