Another reason we love living in Barcelona: LA PLAYA y SOL There are not too many European cities that offer as much sun and beach as Barcelona! As someone who has lived in California and Costa Rica, I think living near the beach is now a must for me. Whenever life gets stressful and I’m having a hard time, I head down to the beach and everything seems to feel so much better afterwards! There’s just something about the fresh air, sand, sun and sea. This is where I did most of my Barcelona marathon training last year, and it was the ideal place for running!☀️Barcelona’s climate is really one of the main reasons we chose to move here. And yes, those are surfers in the water, when it does rain in the winter here, the waves get pretty big and all the surfers can be seen taking advantage early in the morning. - Andrea

I’m going to share a few of my favorite things about living in Barcelona over the next few posts.

Numero Uno: ARCHITECTURE my jaw continues to drop weekly as I walk around this gorgeous city. Barcelona is famous for Guadí of course, but there are several other masterminds behind the Barcelona facades. This is Casa Amatller, which sits right next to the famous Casa Battló. It might not be as famous but it’s just as spectacular! This was designed by Josep Pui i Cadafalch. It was originally built for the chocolatier Antoni Amatller. 🍦LOCAL TIP: There is a nice cafe at the bottom in the back called Faborit, it is a great cafe for a coffee, smoothies and of course hot chocolate! Anyone can go to the cafe. Many people have no idea it’s there or think they need to have bought tickets to Casa Amatller. So when visiting either building or just admiring from the outside it’s a nice place to go in and regroup!

Hey everyone! I thought I should probably introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. My name is Andrea Fellman, the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Twist Travel Magazine. I live in Barcelona, Spain with my husband, two kids and two dogs 🐕 (new 🐶not pictured) Before moving to Barcelona we lived in Costa Rica for 3 years. Living life as a American expat is really fun and exciting but definitely has its ups and downs. I write a blog called Wanderlust Living (when I have time to blog) and I share more of our travels and my international life over at @andreafellman I hope to get to know all of you better and if your travels ever take you to Costa Rica or Spain or if you have questions about moving abroad, I can help! Ask me anything:)

Bought this door mat today. Which pretty much sums up the operation I am running over here in Barcelona - and I know all of you are too. Daily maid service, breakfast included, free wi fi and pet friendly! However, I’m not sure it’s five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ everyday...😂 What’s your hotel offer? - Andrea
