Day 2 of the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. I’m delighted to have been awarded selected maker by Craft and Design magazine. I’ll have a feature with them in the new year!

I’m at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair Fair in Manchester till Sunday. I’ve got my ‘Riven’ sideboard on show along with a few smaller pieces. Please come and see me if you’re in the area!

I've made a few of these 'Grizedale' console tables over the last few years but this one is my favourite. I tend to pick a contrast in colour between the legs and top when I make them speculatively but this client wanted oak and burr oak. I love the subtlety of it!

Here's what it currently displays... my dad built these 1/12 replica F1 cars when I was growing up. I'd always been in awe of them so it was great to give them a proper home!

'Honister' vitrine was one of the first pieces I ever made. Named after the mine in the Lake District who supplied the green slate panels. It's a low coffee table/display cabinet.

I'm doing some real bread and butter work this week making kitchen cabinets for a big delivery in just over a fortnight. I'm the meantime I'll be uploading a few older pieces that, unless you've been on my website, you may not be familiar with!

Finally some close up detail shots of the 'Riven' sideboard. You can see the grain better in the stunning veneer supplied by @nantwichveneers in some of these. The rippled ash needs to be seen to be believed!

The third piece I took to @celebrationofcraftsmanship this year was the 'Riven' sideboard. The hidden whiskey compartment got thoroughly tested during the exhibition!

The second piece I took to @celebrationofcraftsmanship this year was my 'Drift' coffee table. This one's in English walnut and American black walnut and will be going to it's new home in London soon!

A few more...

I've just had the pieces I took to Celebration of Craftsmanship photographed by SO visual and I'm very happy with the results! I'll have them all up on here and my website over the next week or so... here's a little taster of my 'perch' hallway table to wet your appetite.
