Report back from Monique about the @wtfbikexplorer ride in Patagonia, AZ. 125 miles of dirt, groads and hills. Throughout the 4 day ride, we passed grassland, ocotillo forests, washes and mountain passes and compromised one day of epic tailwinds for one of brutal headwinds. We did lose a rider on the second day to allergies, since the winds were so fast (approx 25-35mph). Cattle and their calves were sprinkled along the hillside along with blooming spring flowers.
The bikes and gear varied quite a bit throughout the 8 of us. There was one fat bike, several hardtail MTBs, a gravel bike and then my Surly Ogre. Somehow, we managed to complete the ride without any mechanical mishaps or flats; luck of the draw. We did need all the spare Voile straps for tying down loose ends.
In the words of @sarahjswallow, “7 strangers, 7 unique backgrounds, 1 amazing time shared.”
