When you train with me, I could demolish you. I could put the hurt on you so bad you barf and are in agony for the next week each time you get on and off the toilet. But I won’t (though, sometimes it does inadvertently happen 🤷🏻‍♀️). A good training session should push you out of your comfort zone but it shouldn’t be suffering. When you’re with me, I’m watching your facial expressions, I’m paying attention to breakdown in your form. I’m seeking that fine balance of challenging and do-able. ‘Cause I want you to enjoy, reap gains and come back for more.

Last post was me in the summer, bikini-clad. This is how I’m actually dressed these days. But even -20C days aren’t so bad when you’re dressed right. These @anfibioboots are a game changer. Wool-lined and handmade in Montreal, they’re a joy to wear, super cute and keep my tootsies so warm. 🌬

I love this @niketraining slogan “stop exercising, start training”. “Exercise” , to me, invokes unpleasantness from the aerobics age you do to “burn calories” and “slim inner thighs” or what not. Exercise seems like a kind of punishment you HAVE to do. Whereas Training is something you do with gusto to get better in the sport of your passion. And that sport for all of us is life. We’re training to be good at life.

It’s all semantics I guess, but I suggest you say you’re going to go train, rather than workout or exercise. Trust me, you’ll feel all the more pro about it. .

Squat!! I say Stop messing around with frou frou exercises and focus on attaining good form and getting stronger in your big lifts. Squats are a boss move.
👉🏼 to unrack the bar, stand directly under the bar and stand it up off the rack.
👉🏼 Use the safety bars or use a spotter if you’re really pushing your weight.
👉🏼 No need to take several steps back from the rack. Stay close in case you need to abort mission fast.
👉🏼 get low. Parallel to the floor or lower .
👉🏼 Keep knees pushed out, watch they don’t buckle in at bottom of the movement.

I’m not particularly working on my squats at the moment but 185 lbs is a good weight for me for 5 reps, 5 sets.

I love clamshells. 🍑Three variations of the awesome body weight glute exercise. Of course, you can pimp out any variation of this with elastics, weights and cables. Go for high reps with these ones, I like 20 each side for three reps. Feel the burn. .
