This might surprise a lot of people but I have never run a #5K (or a longer distance in any type of #race.) I did enjoy a short stint on the cross country team my freshman year of high school but that was enough to make me never want to run a considerable distance again.
So what made me decide to sign up to run this 5K when I could've had the option to walk or just make a donation, you might ask? Mainly, The Laurel #Pregnancy Center is a place extremely close to my heart and their staff and what they do on a daily basis is simply amazing. I figured if there was anything worth running more than 2 miles for as well as risking possible injury or spontaneous combustion this was it. I also figured I could make a way bigger impact by sharing the possible embarrassment with all of you in return for your donations.
These donations make a huge difference in a place that works to change lives EVERY day. They are a loving and #nonjudgemental center that truly cares about the people that walk through their doors. They also fully rely on donations so the more I can raise the better! Who knows I might even recreate that super embarrassing picture from freshman year if I can hit my fundraising goal before May 6th - but you have to donate to find out!
So even if you can only donate $1 to help me reach my goal, it ALL makes a difference! (Plus, I never even asked people to buy girl scout cookies from me as a child because I hate asking for money...but I'm doing it now...so clearly this is important to me. Donate!)
