The best thing you can do when you make a mistake is to own it, 'fess up and take steps to correct it. The focus should be on our own behaviour and we should control our own reactions.

Life is full of adventure. Our job is to be ready for it - to embrace it -- and enjoy the ride. And you will never know who you might meet or see along the way.

Our days can be full of ups and downs that tax our emotions and increase our stress. Our challenge is to ride those waves with presence of mind, grace and as much laughter as possible. We'll enjoy our days much, much more. Care to try?

Have you ever thought about why we sometimes fear sharing the truth about ourselves or our actions? Wouldn't that transparency be more possible if there was trust with the person with whom you should share? As a leader or even a friend, trust can only be garnered when there is transparency. So let's think more about transparency -- and the trust will follow.

If you are feeling down and struggling with depression and/or other mental health issues, I hope you find the courage to share your story with someone. It is so important to talk about it. So if you bring the courage, I will bring the kindness. I am here for you.

Today is just as good as any day to be thankful for all we have. The list is extensive.

"A deep sense of love and belonging is an irresistible need of all people. We are biologically, cognitively, physically, and spiritually wired to love, to be loved, and to belong. When those needs are not met, we don't function as we were meant to. We break. We fall apart. We numb. We ache. We hurt others. We get sick." @brenebrown shared this profound insight to Emma Seppälä on @psych_today. So let's start today with love.

We've got a lot to do today. Let's start with believing in ourselves.

Today's focus is on compassion. Compassion for you and compassion for all others. As Plato once said, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle."

When something stands out, we should look for beauty first. And in most cases, it won't be hard to find.

Let's reflect upon our present blessings -- we all have so many -- and not on our past misfortunes of which we all have some. [My adaptation of Charles Dickens from A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Writings]

"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards." -- Soren Kierkegaard. Time to consider which direction you are taking.
