How do I become an IFBB pro?👇🏼
For those unfamiliar with the sport of bodybuilding 💪🏼, let’s compare each step to making it to the NFL 🏈:
🔹You start at an NPC regional competition (first picture). Anyone can enter, except if you are already an IFBB pro. (like trying out for your high school football team)
🔹If you place Top 2 at a regional show, you qualify for nationals. (Think of this as a “limited” college football recruitment) Your qualification only lasts for one year following the year you qualified.
🔹You go to a national competition (second picture) where you are a dime a dozen. You keep competing at the national level, consistently improving and trying to get recognized by the judges (the NFL draft). Pro card eligibility depends on the show (typically 🥇 first place) Much like the NFL, approx. only 7% of eligible players get drafted each year.
🔹You place accordingly and get your IFBB pro card (drafted to the NFL). Now you compete at the pro ranks (third picture). You put in years of work to only play for a few seconds on the stage (field).
🔹At this level you either sink or swim as a pro. Many individuals will turn pro, but some will never get put in the game (Qualifying for Olympia)
🔹Whether it’s scoring points by placing Top 5 or winning a pro show to make your way to the Big O, think of this step as making it to the Super Bowl. You go to Olympia (Super Bowl) and play against the best. After the competition (game) is over, you work on qualifying for Olympia the following season.
