When the camp promo came up, I was excited to get to know these lovely people better as well as to learn more about God through the sessions and interactions with other people attending camp. It is such an awesome opportunity to come together and learn more about God as we fellowship and have fun together.

I love our theme for this year: He Is because knowing who God is, his character and what the Bible says about him really helps us to appreciate what he has done for us even more. Camp is an awesome opportunity to learn more about God as well as hanging out with lovely people!
It basically all comes down to our vision verse Mark 12:30-31-“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your strength...Love your neighbour as yourself, there is no commandment greater than these”. How can you love God with all that you are and extend that love to others if you don't even know who HE IS? Come to camp and find out more.” - Shannon Murphy, President of OCF 2018

"I still remember my first OCF camp, I was absolutely terrified. I barely knew anyone, hadn’t been to any Friday sessions and decided to go on a whim when my friend invited me. I remember regretting my decision to go after paying for camp, certain that the 4 days and 3 nights were going to be filled with awkward conversations and forced teamwork with absolute strangers. But I was so wrong.
Four camps later, I can now tell you that going to camp was one of the BEST decisions I made in my uni life. I won’t lie, I had to step out of my comfort zone and it wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I met new friends who genuinely wanted to get to know me, had lots of fun and good food, but most importantly, I walked out of camp filled with the desire to know God more.
OCF was a place where I could seek God for myself, not based on my parents or friends’ faith. It has truly helped me in building my relationship with God. I’m so thankful for the seniors who encouraged and mentored me and friends who supported and walked with me, who even now are playing a significant part in my life.
So if you’re reading this and you feel the same as I felt back then, stop thinking and just make the decision to go!" - Rebecca #thisisocf

"What do you like about the single life?" . "Really it's just the luxury of time, the most precious resource given to us by God which we must be diligent stewards of.
As for using this resource, I don't know if I have the gift of singleness as described by Paul, but regardless it should be fully invested towards doing what is ordained by God. At this point in time: developing my character into a man upon which responsibility can be shovelled and stacked. I think I'm still a work in progress with many glaring flaws (i.e. squandering this resource), but if I can grow through the Holy Spirit to fully bear His portion set for me, then that will be enough. Being single also means that I'm obviously called to focus on myself due to all this extra time, with looking elsewhere being only appropriate in His time which potentially could be never at all.
And on a side note, it also means that I have no burden to break that vending machine cookie into halves 😀" - David Long #thisisocf . ** JOIN US FOR RELATIONSHIP PANEL TOMORROW! **

"How do you keep your relationship God-centred?"
.
I find that having a god-centred relationship doesn’t actually come as naturally as I thought it would. And there’s no surprises there, because a relationship focuses on two individuals coming together. You wanna know all about the other person, and share parts of yourself; it’s almost like the focus of self and the focus of now ‘us’ becomes the main focal point. I believe the key to keeping God at the centre of the relationship is intentionality. Being intentional as an individual to seek Him, and being intentional to not just put God at the centre of the relationship, but ultimately, your whole being, your whole life. It’s definitely not easy, and I’m in the midst of learning to do that still, but it’s only when we first prioritise God and centre Him in our everything, will He be at the centre of our relationship. In a practical sense, don’t limit God to bible studies, ministry work and similar values, but find God in the struggle, in the pursuit of each other and the daily stuff." - Chelsea Lee #thisisocf

Introducing our MCs for Relationship Panel this Friday 13th October...Esther and Jethro!
.
"What's the most important thing in a relationship for you?" "I think if I had to choose only one thing, it would be respect—in the literal sense of the word. Respecting someone isn’t just admiration, but having regard for the feelings, wishes and rights of the other person. When you naturally uphold the rights of another in a relationship—that they have a say in it too, good communication and unselfishness come into play, instead of deciding things and feelings on your own. And the admiration aspect is important because you want to date someone with qualities you love. So I think these make respect, and out of them, flows a healthy relationship." - Esther Lee
.
"I would think that healthy communication is important in a relationship, knowing each others boundaries, able to freely express what each other likes/dislikes, knowing how one feels loved- lol love languages- and be able to resolve conflicts. A healthy relationship does not necessarily mean that there won’t be any disagreements with each other, but being able to resolve that by putting down your own pride to be able to try and understand what they’re trying to communicate to you." - Jethro Nacario

"4 years ago, I came to Auckland not knowing anyone. 4 years later, I have friends that have become my family - those that I've met through OCF.
I was brought up in a Christian family. However, I never really had a close group of Christian friends, served at church or read the Bible in depth. It was through OCF that I gained valuable friends to keep me accountable in my spiritual walk, opportunities to serve which testified His faithfulness and time to spend with others to study His Word. Being surrounded by a tight community who love God and people has strengthened my walk with God and inspired myself to live a Christ-centered life. I'm so thankful to be a part of OCF throughout my university life and I look forward to seeing new faces around!" - Abigail Mok.
