Being a powerlifter brings me inexplicable and endless JOY!
Walking into the gym, programme in hand, psyching myself to crush my lifts - I feel infallibly strong!
This year kicked my ass. Stage 4 Adrenal Fatigue is no joke! I’m in unchartered territory where I no longer get a say - my body just went “NAH, you are not listening 👉🏼 you are out of resources 👉🏼 I am now forcing you to rest!”
I am now ‘in recovery’ which means I still have a long way to go. As soon as I get some energy, I use it all up with great excitement and before I know it, I’m back in bed! SO frustrating, lol! 😩
Training is when & what I feel like: Zumba, infrared cardio at @studio_phoenix.au and movement sessions with @coachblaquecsf .
I have now accepted that, for now, this is my new programme:
1️⃣ 3 x sets of Rest, rest & more rest
2️⃣ 2 x meals of brain & gut nourishing food
3️⃣ 24/7 Reducing emotional stress
4️⃣ 8-9 x hours of sleep
5️⃣ 20 mins x direct sunlight 1st thing 🌅 to help reset my circadian rhythm for better sleep
6️⃣ Barefoot walks on the beach (helps with anxiety)
7️⃣ Fortnightly x Methylated B12 shots 💉
8️⃣ Daily gratitude for my health, my family, my lovely husband, my beautiful friends who have stuck by me through this rough patch and my Faith.
Things could certainly be worse. It seems to have been a tough year for a lot of people. But I’m looking forward to living up to my IG handle again soon. I’m the meantime though... 💤😉
