Supported headstand (Shirshasana) is often considered "the king of yoga poses". It is a great asana for strengthening the whole body, relieving stress and calming the brain as well as stimulating the pituitary and hypothalamus glands (important for overall well-being). Yoga helps us develop mindfulness of the world around us and inside ourselves. It also builds our compassion for others and teaches us selfless service. After the 7.0 earthquake that hit Lombok on August 5, thousands of people are still homeless and need food supplies, shelter and light. Our team at The Yoga Barn has donation boxes on site and we are also hosting several fundraising events. Here's what you can do to help: 1) Donate cash on site at the reception area.
