On Friday, May 5th, 2017 the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk will be hosting Cinco De MarshWalk—an event to celebrate the classic Mexican holiday with a bit of southern flair. The event will begin with $5 Cuervo margaritas and $5 ‘fiesta food,’ at all Marsh Walk restaurants from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; the party continues throughout the evening.

The event is free to the public—themed drinks and food will be available for purchase at all MarshWalk businesses—there will be plenty of party favors, authentic cuisine and drink specials. In addition, there will be a competition to see which MarshWalk bartender makes the best margarita.
Beginning at 6:00 pm, there will be three authentic, local Mexican folklore dancers from Coastal Fusion Latin Dance making their way down the MarshWalk. Also from Coastal Fusion, Samantha Cassidy and Michael Honeycutt will demo Bachata and Salsa dances.

The public also has the opportunity to pose for pictures with a pair of donkeys (provided by 5-star farms) and props in the Wahoos parking lot.
After visiting the eight MarshWalk locations; Bovines, Wahoos, Drunken Jack’s, Bubba’s Love Shack, Creek Ratz, Dead Dog Saloon, Claw House, and Tuna Shak; guests who collected wristbands from each will have the opportunity to break open the piñata at Claw House for a chance to win $1,500 in cash and prizes at 9:00pm.

The MarshWalk has been a well-renowned part of the local community for many years. Events at the MarshWalk bring members of the local community closer to each other and the community they live in. The MarshWalk also appeals to those visiting the Myrtle Beach area from all over the world. Cinco De MarshWalk is sure to be a well-attended event that benefits both those in the community and the businesses that serve them. We are looking forward to seeing many at the event, giving the public an exciting and unique opportunity to explore a prized piece of the Myrtle Beach Area.

When we first came up with the Wicked Tuna concept, our focus was bringing fresh, exciting, and creative cuisine to Murrells Inlet. That all starts with what we call “Hook to Plate”, fresh every day local seafood.
Every week our fishing fleet heads out to the Atlantic ocean sourcing the freshest grouper, mahi-mahi, sea bass, and snapper off the Carolina coast. Every fish we serve is caught local by our own boats and then cleaned and prepped on-site in our Fish House before bringing it upstairs to the kitchen.
From there, our master chefs prepare exciting culinary experiences matched only by our breathtaking views. “Hook to Plate” fresh every day seafood, that’s the Wicked Tuna way.

Where to eat?

Murrells Inlet, about a 20-minute drive from downtown Myrtle Beach, is nicknamed “the seafood capital of the world.” A standout restaurant is The Wicked Tuna, with eight boats ferrying in fresh fish, shrimp, and oysters each day. Outside diners can enjoy the marshy smells and wafting sea breezes. Oysters Rockefeller comes without even a soupçon of grit. On the pan-seared grouper, a hint of blue cheese does not overpower the sautéed lobster and lump crab topping. A sherry-butter aftertaste renders she-crab soup addictive. The most popular dessert is a nontraditional tiramisu with layers of crushed cookie soaked in coffee liqueur.
Other dishes worth mentioning are the Caesar dressing made tableside and the Grand Marnier crème brûlée at Thoroughbreds on Kings Highway, decorated throughout in a curiously romantic horse-racing theme, and the liquid-nitrogen cocktails (the chocolate-whiskey, vanilla crème, and rum combination are deeply satisfying) at the oceanfront ART Burger Sushi Bar. The latter restaurant’s offerings are uniformly exquisite, ranging from grass-fed beef burgers to the delectable omakase sushi entrée with each piece a different size and shape. Be sure to ask directions to the free parking, which is across two streets and a block away.
