The Underground Museum  Exhibition space by artists for artists.

#PURPLEGARDENCINEMA: Boomee lives in a quiet countryside populated by ghosts, including his deceased wife and long lost son. Now dying himself, Boonmee spends his final days contemplating the reasons for his illness. Like the animated hit, “Coco”, Uncle Boonmee crafts a world where spirits and the living coexist, and where the mistakes of our past lives are healed through the good ol’ fashioned magic of love.

#TRIBE: Photographer and our friend, Melodie McDaniel (@melodiemcdaniel), is on a mission to publish her most recent body of work, Riding Through Compton, but we need your help!
Time is ticking - we’re pushing to pre-sale 500 copies of the book by July 20th to get it through production. Once purchased you can find your name in the name book as a “co-publisher”! Riding Through Compton pairs three years of documentary photographs with text and interviews by Amelia Fleetwood conducted with participants, guardians, and volunteers involved with the Compton Junior Posse. The book honors the dedication and development of the young people involved with this program, and gracefully illustrates the enduring positive bond between these individuals and the horses they care for and ride.

Let’s come together to bring this beautiful display of humanity to life. Head over to the link in our bio for instructions on pre-ordering your copy now!

#UMVOICES: “This exhibition is just an extension of how The Underground Museum makes me feel. It’s intimate, and gives me the chance to interact with the work and the space. I really love the idea of water and power. How something can be so soothing and so powerful at the same time. The photos I’ve taken of the exhibit have that same kind of theme, an intimate interaction of the different powers of water.” - Olafur Eliasson’s “Beauty” captured by @frankie.be__
Water & Power is up through September 2018. Come thru!

#PURPLEGARDENCINEMA: In this intimate portrait, director Kate Novack introduces us to the many layers of one of fashion’s most influential journalists and tastemakers, André Leon Talley. This emotional documentary chronicles Talley’s
upbringing in the segregated Jim Crow South to his work at Interview, Vogue and W magazines.
