I haven’t been in therapy for almost two years I think, I mean regular therapy, we would check in every once and a while because mentally I was in an ok place. After my brothers passed we as a family and individually started seeing the most wonderful grief counselor/therapist ever and after my test results with Lyme, bartonella, babesia, EBvirus, and others came back positive yesterday I texted her after I started breaking down. She’s like how about a FaceTime tomorrow (i.e. today). I forgot how loved I felt by her and how grateful it made me. She doesn’t bullshit you, she said, “there is nothing I can say that will make this better so you just be angry and upset because that is a perfectly normal response to a perfectly abnormal situation.” We agreed more regular check-ins are necessary again so I can feel supported and she can keep me mentally healthy or try to while I’m going through this long road to remission. But man do you forget how drained you feel after 😴 Find yourself a good counselor, they’re worth everything sometimes. .
