TBH I don't even know what number of #rusticfarmhousetruths I'm on anymore cuz I'm pretty much just spilling the beans here.. This one is a doozie! It's like I'm admitting my deepest darkest secret in front of the world 😖 This video is of my Christmas tree last year showing you my homemade ornaments from curtain rod finials. Btw, That's not the secret! Stay with me here... Every year I want new Christmas decor but I can't afford all new stuff so I buy a couple new pieces and then make the rest. THAT'S STILL NOT THE SECRET! The secret is this:
Friends, I am a "working class" gal. I live in a "working class" house, drive my used Kia, pick up a second job, wear Mary Kay makeup (Ulta who?), use store bought shampoo and every pair of expensive thing I own was bought second hand or passed down to me. We haven't had cable or satelite for 2 years (I keep hearing about some show called "This Is Us"?? 😂) We could never imagine paying $1200 per dining room chair (like the site I was just checking out) or 90k for a new car or $10,000 for outdoor music themed Christmas lights! But just as it's part of who we are, how we grew up, it's all we know and love, everyone in other places in life feel the same. You probably would hate my way of life and that's ok! In no way am I glorifying being a certain class in society nor am I bashing those who can afford those things. What I'm saying is this:
I'm so glad that I've been broke and had to struggle up the ladder, for it made me ever so thankful for this home, for the talents I've HAD to develop in order to create this place. And just like in years past, I plan to make new Christmas decor and I cant wait to share with you my plans! But for now I'm sharing some of my "Christmas Past" projects on my stories.. Go check them out!!
