A LOT OF FEELINGS. I just walked out of my classroom for the last time. This classroom that I've had the insane privilege as a teacher to stay in for three straight years as a fourth grade English teacher. This room has housed close to 200 kids, many hundreds of books, countless broken pencils, tears, smiles, sweet notes, vent sessions, and one emotional teacher. This profession is NOT for the faint of heart, and has taught me more about life and our broken world than I could have ever imagined. I have a lot of feelings about our public education system, but that's probably for another time. For now, I just have to humbly stand beyond thankful for everyone who has supported me on this journey, specifically my insanely perfect team - Debbie, Veronica, Micha, and Jess. You are some of the most encouraging and strong women I will ever have the honor of knowing and I can't thank you enough for supporting me every step of the way, every single day. To every teacher grinding for the kids every day: you are beyond important and necessary and it's the hardest job in the world. Never forget your worth and also, leave if you need to. Take care of yourself.
So, what's next? I'm beside myself excited to announce I will be moving back to AUSTIN, TEXAS to work with the incredible Suzanne Vernau Feezel and Upbeat Marketing. I absolutely could not be more thrilled for this incredible opportunity in my most favorite city.
Special thanks to Lindsay Nickell for being the most supportive and understanding roommate and person. And to Mitchel Lambert for moving all my stuff four times and never once complaining; you lift me up every moment of every day and are my dream come true.
