Ah you guys I'm so excited! Today I signed up for a 52km overnight cross-country ski race!

The distance is split over two days but you have to carry all your gear, food and camping gear in with you to camp out overnight under the stars before racing out the next morning! What a cool idea for a cross country ski event! πŸ˜€

For me, places like this reset my soul ❀

Where's your happy place?

How I feel about long weekends πŸ™Œ πŸ“· @c_marsh15

One of my favourite tips for packing efficiently? Using soft packing cubes to separate and organize different items in your bag: one for tech gear, one for toiletries, one for make-up and one for medicine and utilities. I use these cubes when travelling abroad or when out in the backcountry hiking and cross country skiing.

I personally love @true.leaf.collection's travel pouches! They're gorgeous and nature-themed which suits my personality. They're also hand-made locally here in Saskatoon with up-cycled material. Plus, a portion from every piece gets donated to the Northern Animal Rescue in Northern Saskatchewan. Ashley, the creator and owner, truly has some great pieces!

Was out filming this week with @visitsaskatoon at @wanuskewin. All beautifully shot and captured by Chad @goldenmediaco
It's no secret winter is my absolute favourite season. So I can't wait to share the pieces we put together with you all (but you may just have to wait for it to launch NEXT winter. Don't worry - I promise the summer will go fast. It always does πŸ™ˆ) #saskatooning #exploreYXE

My favorite part about travel and adventure is sharing it with those you care about. It's not always about the places you see but the people you see those places with and the experiences you share while there.
That's what makes an adventure memorable for me.
On that note, Happy Valentine's Day ❀

When you head out to Duck Mountain Provincial park for a cross-country skiing adventure and the back country shelter you plan to build a qunizee at to sleep in turns out to be the outdoor adventurers equivalent of the Delta Bessborough, you skip the quinzee and live in luxury for the weekend πŸ˜‚

Not all classrooms have walls.
As a certified but non-practicing teacher I find value in learning in a variety of ways. It's not always sitting at a desk or from a book. Often some of the best lessons learned are from getting out there and having the world as your teacher.
If it hadn't been for travel, I would never have realized how passionate I am about the outdoors and hiking. And I would never have changed career paths to what I currently do today.
It's not always easy and it's not always glamourous but I promise it's always worth it.

We grow a lot of things here in Saskatchewan, including frosted Mini Wheats πŸ˜‰

It's impossible not to love winter when it looks like this 😍
